Once upon a time, when I thought of Latina fashion dolls, I would think of Mattel's Teresa (or Kayla sometimes) or of Integrity's Alysa or Isabella from the Get Set Club or more recently, Rosa from YNU Group's Mixis. Today though, I want to show three dolls who have received less coverage online.
Introducing Mattel's Shakira, Haschel Toys' Olga Tanon, and Yaboom's Christina Aguilera ...

I've been seeing the Shakira doll on Flickr. She's hot.
ReplyDeleteI've also seen Christina dolls being sold in local ebay. The funny thing is she's being called Britney! LOL. The seller obviously don't know what he or she is selling.
As for Olga Tanon, this is the 1st time I heard her name.
love the variation in your Hispanic dolls :)
ReplyDeleteI think that Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera were both Mousekeeters once before their musical careers so perhaps that's how/why the seller got confused. However the dolls are different -Christina has a long face while Britney has a shorter, squarer face. (If squarer is a word LOL.)
ReplyDeleteI first saw Olga Tanon the doll in another collector's Webshots photos. I love how her mouth is wider and her nose is longer than most fashion dolls. She stands out among my figures.
Oh and Olga Tanon the person is a Puerto Rican singer. I'm not familiar with her music. I'll have to listen to her though ... I mean I have her doll so I should hmmm? ;-D
Thanks, Therese! I love the variety of these dolls, too. (Darn, now I am thinking that I should have added the Rosario Dawson Valerie doll ... but then, she isn't a singer so just as well.)
ReplyDeleteIt would be interesting to see how many Hispanic dolls and action figures there are - outside Mattel, I mean. I *know* that there are Selena and Ricky Martin dolls, produced by smaller doll companies. There are probably others, too. I'd never heard of Olga Tanon BEFORE I saw her doll online.
