Mattel issued two versions of the Rebelde or RBD female dolls: the schoolgirl one and the concert one. Is there a difference between the two? Yes, Virginia, there is.
The Schoolgirl RBD dolls are on the shortened "Hobbit" body while the Concert RBD dolls are on normal-Barbie bodies. Yay Concert dolls!
However, the hair styles on the Roberta Schoolgirl and the Roberta Concert dolls differ. I think the Schoolgirl doll has a prettier face - she has a right side part. The Concert doll has short bangs. Guess who's going to play Frankenstein and swap heads? Ah, you know me well LOL.
Here are the photos for comparison:
Both dolls are super cute but if I could only pick one, it would have to be the schoolgirl.
ReplyDeleteAh! I hear the sound of the blow dryer! Keep the clothers. You can always use a white shirt. It will fit another doll! I bought the pack with the guy. I love the tie, shirt and jacket. They are great pieces. Hey, I remember reading years ago in Barbie Barzaar that Barbie was going to do a website that would allow you to design your own doll but it never happen. It is still a great idea.
ReplyDeleteHugs, I like the Schoolgirl Roberta face and hairstyle better, but I prefer the face and hairline of the Concert Lupita to that of the Schoolgirl Lupita. I prefer the Schoolgirl outfits though.
ReplyDeleteLeonaamon, Mattel did have a website where you could design your own Barbie. Alas, I never got around to doing more than entering the components I wanted for "my" doll.
Today, I think that they have that create-a-doll option. I don't recall where you can do this - possibly New York City or that supersized mall in the Midwest.
interested?
ReplyDeleteHi Shaun! Yes, I'd be interested in doing a Top 10 Favorites for 2009. I'll check for the deadline in the posts at your site.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the invitation. I look forward to seeing your choices this year ;-D
Hi and thanks for visiting, Vinni Azevedo! I've sold my extra boxed Diego and Roberta set. If you like, I can post a request for that doll in a post here. Let me know if you'd like that and any limits, stipulations you have.
