Introduction to the New Philadelphia Doll Collecting Examiner - ME!

Uh ... the ME is Me as in Dana aka D7ana aka the voice of A Philly Collector of Playscale Dolls and Action Figures. Me.

I now write for Examiner.com -- yippee! Here is a link to my first article.

Progress? Oh, yes! I will maintain Philly Collector as my personal blog and online play pen, but the Examiner writing will cover local events and personalities. Wow. Imagine that.

Payment? Eventually. Philly Collector has been up for two years, and I have not received anything from the ads clicked here. (Not that ad income is or was my primary goal here.) I do want to earn from my writing, but I do not expect to become rich overnight. However, this writing assignment will help me improve my objective writing skills and productivity. I will need to be more socially active to meet the local association criteria. I will need to write more concisely. That's all payment of a different kind.

So join me at my Doll Collector spot on Examiner, too.

  3. Congratulations!!! That is so, so, so cool! You have such an awesome writing style, and you know eeeeeeeeeverything about dolls-- you're the obvious choice for roving reporter:) I'm excited to see what sort of things you get to do! It's a big step forward, with lots of new experiences, I'm sure it will be really exciting and rewarding in so many ways. (The being more socially active part would be tough for me, lol)

Great first article. I soooo miss the old days when there were multiple toy stores. Children's Palace, Circus World, KB Toys, sniff:(

I'll surely be following you at the examiner! Hugs!

  4. Thanks, BDE, SG, and DOC!

You're such great writers; I am flattered and humbled by your praise and well-wishes. (But hey, don't let that stop either, LOL. And if I can't LOL at myself, I would be one insufferable puppy ;-D Aha, didn't know you were chatting with a four-pawed creature, hey?)

SG, in RL, I just missed being a hermit. You now - think Robert de Niro wagging his finger at Billy Crystal in Analyze This - you read as warm and friendly and cool-on-the-social-scene.

Joking aside though - thanks for your kind words, your support, and the writing-role models you present.

Sniff. All choked up, heh heh.

  6. Thanks, MSJ!

Not famous yet ... can't say that I would want to be either, LOL. Recognized ... nice. Mobbed on the street ... not for me. As IF I would be writing about playscale dolls and action figures. Here in Philly ... shrug.

I'll seem even kookier to my non-doll acquaintances ;-} Eh, but I live with me so that matters more. Pleasing me and those who are gracious enough to join me in my DAF fun ;-D
