Have you seen these? Generation Girl Outfits Query
The fashions in this post are shown in the third Generation Girl (My Room) booklet. I have seen the outfits shown in the second booklet (Dance Party), but I either missed these fashions or they were never produced. If anyone has seen them, please forward a comment about them and any links showing them NRFB or on a doll.
The only one I would wear would be Lara’s; Nichelle’s hat reminds me of a Fifth Dimension song, “Up, up and Away.” High drama. How about you?
I think I have some of the outfits in the first picture. I'll go digging through my doll clothes and see if I can find them.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Nikita! If you have a blog or photos online, please share the link. At your convenience ;-D
ReplyDeleteWent on E-Bay, someone is selling the purple outfit that Ana is wearing. Only 2.99 Shipping is 8.95
ReplyDeleteYou can search: Generation Girl Gear.

I have never seen these outfits in my travels.
Hi there! I'm sorry to contact you via comment but I couldn't find a direct contact link on your blog. I skimmed through back to Oct 2009 on your blog looking for any doll that might look like one my friend came across (she's into the Barbie re-fashioning thing) and is trying to identify. Your knowledge of face molds is pretty sweet! so I thought if you wouldn't mind looking at this pic, it might ring a bell for you to know what kind of Barbie (or other doll) it may be.

ReplyDeleteThanks for that link, Frannie! I've never seen those outfits in stores either.
ReplyDeleteXandara,
ReplyDeleteHi and thanks for the kind comments. I don't recognize the doll in the photo BUT I will post the link so that if another doll enthusiast recognizes her, we can find the doll's identity and maker.
Hi, Asrul "iLham" Sany! Would you be interested in loose Generation Girl dolls? I'm selling two Laras. If yes, let me know at d7ana (at) yahoo.com.
ReplyDeleteOh and thanks Xandara for drawing my attention to the lack of a direct e-mail system at this blog. BTW, love your cat on your blog. Adorable cat ;-D
It's not the outfits in the pics you posted that I'm curious about. I've seen Generation Girls Gear and My Room, so I know they're available.
ReplyDeleteIt's these outfits, that I want to know about. https://images.app.goo.gl/YSdX7VWbWjC9JRfa8
Hi and thanks, Anonymous! I can't say with 100% certainty, but I suspect that the Generation Girl outfits shown are doll enthusiast and doll artist DollJunk's creative kitbashing. In the original Tumblr post, DollJunk comments that he'd like Mattel to bring back the Generation Girl line with a "Reunion" line. I think the photo is his vision of how these dolls would look "today." He uses existing fashion pieces to show how the dolls could look. The Barbie's plaid shirt looks like a SpinMaster Liv doll fashion. The Ana's fashion blouse looks like one of the City Style Barbie's tops. The Chelsie's dress looks like one from one of a Tall Fashionistas's. And last, the Blaine's jacket might be from a play line Ken fashion. So, the good news is that you can get those fashions. The bad news is that you'll have to find the individual pieces. But that's part of the fun of collecting - enjoy the search! ;-)
