Target Exclusives and Nod to Charles of My Doll Diary
Charles of My Doll Diary recently wrote an article about "new" Target exclusive Barbie dolls. Since Charles has beautiful photos of the blond and the brunette dolls, I won't repeat their photos here. This past weekend, I saw these dolls at two Target stores in Philadelphia, PA. I am happy to report that, yes, the Black Barbie Glitz doll does exist. Her face sculpt seems a little shorter than the Desiree one and her complexion is light-medium brown.

Did you see the Target Circular this week?
ReplyDeleteBarbie Fashionista, Or Barbie Glam Convertible...$7.00
Bratz 10th Anniversary dolls..$7.00
Monster High Dolls ...$15.00
Other selected Barbie, Bratz and Monster High items are also on sale but no prices or items given.
They come in BRUNETTE as well? OMG... shocker! But a good shock...
ReplyDeleteThe Black Barbie Glitz is more beautiful than the other version, imo. I like their outfit, too. I've been eying similar outfits in My Scene dolls but I only want the clothes.
ReplyDeleteI also like the printed yellow dress in the "closets". I've been planning to make a similar one but couldn't find the right fabric.
I prefer target's red basic barbie. they're cool. hohoho
ReplyDeleteYes, a brunette, Therese! I think she has the Summer head sculpt. She wears a purple dress, same style and shimmeriness as the others ;-D
ReplyDeleteNiel, of the 3, I prefer the AA one, too. Her face resembles Desiree, but it looks a little shorter. Interesting variation.
ReplyDeleteiLham, I prefer the 2011 Barbie Basics, too, if we're thinking overall set - Barbie Basics vs. Barbie Blitz. More dolls to the Basics for a start, LOL.
Oh, Frannie, nope, I did NOT see that circle. I'll have to check it.
ReplyDeleteNice post, hope to see more from your blog, anyway I found this website http://www.ThatsMyFace.com/f/action_figure_head that can create a super-realistic doll heads of anyone from just a photo. Imagine making doll of yourself, your kids, your boss or your favorite celebrity!
ReplyDeleteApparently they can make the heads in many scales to fit Barbie-like dolls, Tonner dolls or even smaller figurines like Polly Pocket.
Hi there, I'd love to know which stores in Philly have the AA blitz doll. I live in Delco. :)
ReplyDeleteAny help would be greatly appreciated!
Hi Anonymous in Delco!
ReplyDeleteSorry for my late reply. The Targets were the South Philly one (Mifflin Avenue) and the one at 7400 Bustleton Avenue.
Good luck getting her!
