Brunette Skipper at Toys R Us!

I visited the Cedarbrook Toys R Us today. Not buying, just looking. (That is my story.)

In addition to some of the new Kens - Shaving Fun and a TRU Exclusive Ken giftset - I saw an interesting item. A brunette Skipper with a NEW face and did I mention BROWN hair. Brown hair with pink highlights. Interesting high top sneakers, too. The new Skipper looks like a cross between the Liv dolls and the Best Friends Club Addison doll.

But the same doll listed online has BLONDE hair. Now I wish I had bought the brunette one when I saw her. Sniff.

  2. I actually have one of the new brunette Skippers. I bought her a couple of wks ago. She was part of a set that had a 3 sink vanity. I was so anxious to get this set open that I didn't take any pics. She is really nice. I love her face.

  3. Hey, I saw an new Skipper too in Willowgrove. I don't know if she is the same one but she came with three sinks. Anyway she had one bent arm, so I didn't get her. I don't like to have to rebody dolls if I don't have to (just more money). Which brings me to an observation, to me, sometimes Mattel will make the doll the way I want it if I give them some time. If I give it a year, they fix whatever it is that I have a problem with in the next version of the doll.

  4. Hi, "iLham"! Oh, yes, I have LOTS of saving to do next year. LOTS, LOL! Whoa, why am I strangely happy about that?

Oh, cool, Vanessa! Is the brunette Skipper in one of your families, yet? I look forward to seeing her in your upcoming stories.

Ms. Leo, the brunette Skipper I saw was packaged with a younger sister, blonde Chelsea. (Isn't that a new name for a U.S. Barbie sibling?)

  5. *gasp!* A new facemold and a brunette!? And hightops totally sweeten the deal. Man, just when I thought I was off the hook for wanting stuff, lol! Thanks for the update, I'm on the hunt! If I find one, I guess that means it was meant to be, right? ;)

  6. @ Ms. Leo I actually like that the Skipper has a bent arm. Bent arms work so much better for stories. She will be able to hold a kid, a bag of groceries, etc.

@ D7ana Skipper will definitely have a family. She may even make the Daddy/Daughter dance.

  7. Hi SmidgeGirl! Mattel is diabolical about creating new dolls for us to long for. Really bad people, LOL

Vanessa, thanks for that angle about the bent elbow on the new Skipper. And I look forward to reading your stories in 2011 as I did in 2010!

Oh and ladies, thanks for your great, INSPIRING scenes. Someday ...
