Surrender at Toys R Us

Okay, this is one of those times when an accessory takes precedence over dolls: the Liv drum set. This I could NOT resist. The accompanying Daniela will - of course - serve as a donor body. But I had to have the drums. Sale price ... $16.18 with tax for both the body and the drums. Eight dollars and nine cents each piece. Not bad. No, there are no musical genes in my body. No dreams of becoming a rock star in my present or my past. But drums and motorcycles are two "cool" must have items. I have plenty of motorcycles and skooters. I missed the Liv drums sale at Walmart. Could not take a chance that I might miss them. I don't have a drummer yet for them, but I have the prop now. So, that's good. I have completely justified my surrender to buy.

  1. It's a great find! I love this drum set! Mine didn't come with the doll. I'm still looking for decent looking keyboards so I can have a doll band.

  2. I'd get myself one, too, if if was offered here at that price. :)

  3. I saw that sale at TRU and thought about you. I am glad you were able to take advantage of it.

  4. Wow, you dug deep on that justification. Breaking it down price per piece always helps. Was that another one of your "I'll just look" outings? I am happy that you finally got your drums.

  5. Hi, TM! I thought so ;-D. The drum set is sooo coool. Sigh. Now for a playscale keyboard ... there is one in the Hannah Montana living room presently on sale at Target.com. Might be a bit smallish though?

Hi, Niel! Oh, I wish that you could have the same sales.

Hi, Limbe Dolls! Thanks for thinking about me in conjunction with the TRU sale. I think you brought about the connection ;-D. Positive wishes and all that, lol. Dana and the drums; Dana NEEDS them drums, lol.

Hi, Vanessa. Um, that was the same "only looking" outing. I spread out the content into two posts to show the contrast. Sigh. And see how many others are happy, too? Intones: that purchase was meant to be.

So on the plus side - I got the drums! OOoeey, red drums! Fingers popping. Rat-a-tat! Rat-a-tat! Bam!

  8. Any more pics of the deboxed drum set? (no pressure.....) You really don't like the Liv heads, do you?

  9. Hi Kim! That's a great idea. I'll get some photos up of the drum. Maybe see different figures with the drum ... not that will be FUN.

Regarding the Liv heads ... nope, I don't like big heads. LOL I mean, they would be cute otherwise, but they are too big for that small frame. Sigh, I have three so far ... should give them away. Someone out there just might want them.

  10. Glad you finally found this set. I bought the drums set alone. Another body donor is a great for the price.

  12. Congrats! I miss the TRU that was in Cheltenham. I guess I saved some money with them not being there.

I got the drums around Xmas on sale. I agree with Kristl, Liv accessories are a little studyer than Mattel has been lately. More like their older stuff.

I have the old Barbie set that lights up and was planning to repaint it and do work on it but this set doesn't require any work! It did come with a keyboard so that might get painted.
