Tiana's Car - Out of the Ordinary

At first glance, I crinkled my nose at Disney's Tiana's Car. The colors: purple and green. I don't like purple for cars. I have a lime green Volkswagen bug that I LOVE. The VW has a hippy dippy "feel" to it. But I do not like purple for cars. So I would have dismissed this car based on that aspect. Then I looked at it again.

What if it were repainted, I mused. The lines were different. Roadster instead of a standard car. So it has some mushy, icky little green hearts on it. I could fill those in or alter them so that they were round ....

Soooo .... this is next on my vehicle list. Once I have completed Operation Downsize. Maybe I will paint it tan, this roadster. I'd like a tan car.

  1. 1) I love this car too.
    2) Where do you find the strength to downsize? lol...

  2. 1. Yes, I love the shape of it.

    2. Lol - personal safety. The dolls and action figures trip me. No fooling around ... I bump into them, they fall down, if I am not careful, I could fall. From 2006-08, I bought way more than I should have.

    3. Oh and I will have to fill a void once I have new space. Until those newer DAFs, in turn, start tripping me. Sigh. It's an ugly cycle, but someone has to do it.

  3. Painting is a good option, but I think the intended audience will like it just as it is (little girls).

  4. Yet, I like this car too and thought about painting it also! I thought it would be great for St. Malcolm. You have to arrive in style there!

  5. I snapped this car up several weeks ago. Purple, green, and gold are the official colors of Mardi Gras so I liked the color scheme. I didn't like the hearts, vines, and frogs embossed on the surface as much but I like the car's vintage lines.

    Happy Mardi Gras!

  6. I saw this car and crinkled my nose too until I saw it on Aneky's flickr. Now it is on my list too. I am thinking of painting it white and using it for Rod and Danielle's wedding car. It would be reminiscent of the royal wedding when they rode out in the Aston Martin.bas

  7. Hi DBG and yes, the little girls and the other fans of the movie, probably like the colors of the car as it is. Go Limbe Dolls for getting it and for the Mardi Gras connection. (I'm not crazy about the embellishments either; but there is so much coolness about this car, I forgive the goofy bits, lol.)

Ms. Leo and Vanessa - oh, yes, this is a classy vehicle. And it looks much better OUT of the box than in it. Perfect for St. Malcolm or as Rod and Danielle's wedding car.

Last, as Limbe Dolls wished, Happy Mardi Gras!

  8. I absolutely see it... this would be awesome repainted.

Since I've started following all of these miniature blogs I've really learned the value of looking at something for what it could be when it's repainted XD

  10. Hi Heather and Chynadoll! Visiting other DAF blogs and Flickr albums does stir creativity. Paint it red or black ... oh, now that would pop, Chynadoll! I would love to see the variations on this vehicle. Please take photos and post on your blogs if you decide to repaint it.

  11. Hello from Spain: You're right that the car is nice. I'm tired of all the furniture is pink and purple. You Have a great idea to paint the car a different color. Keep in touch.

  12. This car is one of those items that I side glance at when I'm in the store. It's not on my "list," but if it goes on clearance, glomp!

  13. I felt the same about the car, not sure if I wanted it. I did get the mini cooper. Now that you have explained the potential it must might show up in Dotsville.
