Twilight 2013 Dolls Seen at Walmart
Note: Esme uses the old Teresa head sculpt. Carlisle and Emmett use Ken molds.
You know it really is a shame they aren't giving them articulated bodies! I'm surprised they don't realize how much MORE popular they would be if they did!!!
I love that Teresa mold a lot but I wont be getting that doll. Even though Emmett has the Ken mold it looks softer than normal and what he's wearing is awesome. If I find him on sale he's mine.
Do you know if these dolls all have the white skin? I like the guys but if they have white skin there is no matching body doner with better articulation.
Hi and thanks, Muff, Robin, Miss_Lola_77, and Vanessa!
@Muff - I like this use of the Teresa head mold, too, but the complexion will be hard to match. Sigh. I like Emmett's outfit also. As you say though "on sale = MINE," lol.
@Robin - I think ALL of the vampire dolls have the same complexion. I can't think of any guy bodies - poseable - that would match their face complexion. Wonder if there is a way to "shade" the guy faces so that they are a little more "natural" complected. Hmmm ...
@Miss_Lola_77 - My guess is Mattel milks the guy faces 10x as much as the female ones. Lazy and CHEAP, lol.
@Vanessa - yes, them being at Walmart does mean a better chance at a better sale ;-D
I like Emmett's face better than the other guys' faces in this series, too. And the original Teresa mold is a favorite of mine, too.
I loathed the generic Mackie mold for all of the Bella dolls, she is the only one not in my entire collection. I was thoroughly surprises with the Teresa mold on Esme, didn't like it when I saw the prototype doll. On a scale for face molds on the Ken dolls however, Mattel creates newer ones for him vs. Barbies. They did get lazy by using the Edward/Harley Ken for both Jasper & Edward himself. The Carlisle doll has the Tango mold while Emmett has a fresh brand new one!!!
I would not have used the Mackie mold for any Bella doll. I have seen the actress' photo enough to consider the Mackie mold NOT thin enough to be considered for that doll. Sigh.
Emmett has a new head mold? Cool! Guess I might have to get him after all ;-D
I only saw the first Twilight movie so I am not sure how close a match the other Barbie heads are to the Mattel dolls ;-{

ReplyDeleteHi Deborah and thanks!
ReplyDeleteArticulated bodies would make the dolls more popular. Sigh.
At least the Hunger Games Katniss is articulated. Yay!
Happy New Year!

ReplyDeleteWhy use all the same sculpts for the guys? Mattel seems very lazy these days.
ReplyDeleteThat's nice to see them at Walmart. That means there's a chance for a good sale. I like Emmett the best. That Teresa mold is one of my favorites.
