Not Doll-Related SOS Computer Request

I turned off my e-machine computer while it was on.


When I turned it back on, it only shows the "e" logo screen with this two line message


BOOT Menu   :

BIOS Setting  :


Note: pressing the F10 button does not help.


Should I drape the machine with black crepe paper and put on my widow-wear? Any suggestions welcome.

    Try pressing enter, then you should see an option to start Windows. Hope this helps. :-)

    D7ana, my daughter is a web designer and her friends all work in various computer jobs so I asked the one who works with hardware. He said from what you've said that it sounds like either the motherboard has gone or your hard drive has crashed. If you can get to the boot menu, it is the hard drive. If you can't get that far, the problem is with your motherboard - sounds like black crepe and widowweeds to me. Sorry.

    Hi Carrickters! Thanks for that information. I have not yet been able to access the boot menu. I'm going to try again this afternoon. If I still can't get it working, I'll get the black crepe and widow weeds out. Sigh - and great gusty sigh at that.
