Toys R Us Wedding Exclusives

June is here, and Toys R Us is selling two wedding exclusives: Disney Fairytale Wedding Gift Set and MGA Entertainment's Moxie Princess and Prince.

Surprisingly, from this six doll set including Belle and Prince Adam, Rapunzel and Eugene/Flynn Rider, and Cinderella and Prince Charming - I like Cinderella and Prince Charming the best. Probably because they look the least cartoony among the lot. Rapunzel's eyes take up half of her face. Belle's eyes are also large. But all three of the wedding gowns look charming. I was seriously considering buying them for the gowns, Cinderella, and Price Charming alone. Only considering, mind. The group costs $69.99. A little over $10 for each character. Not extravagant, but a little steep for my current budget.

Is it just me or are the Moxie girls too young for marriage? The backstory for the Moxie royalty set states that Moxie girl, Merin, is imagining her wedding. New character Chance is her groom. (Not the most reassuring name, I would think, but then, I am not a Moxie girl or the target audience for the Moxie girl spiel.) This precious and precocious pair are on clearance sale - $14.98 - so if they appeal to you or you could use the wedding gown and/or the groom's tuxedo, make haste. Grab them while you can.

And an extra plus from the Toys R Us exclusives is this pair: Jakks Pacific's Winx Bloom may have a beau. Yes, and he looks as if he has actually eaten at some time in his life. His name is Sky. For $26.99, you can take this couple home. You can create your own wedding ensemble for them.

  1. $69.99! Well, I guess that's the going rate for packs like that because you can get 5 Monster girl packs for $59.99. Still, they aren't even articulated. There are no weddings in my dolls futures so they don't need that or the Moxie pack.

I keep eyeballing that male Winx but I haven't seen him alone yet.

  2. Hello from Spain: I had not seen before the wedding Moxie girl. She is very cute. Keep in touch

  3. I bought the Disney Wedding gift pack for the Prince costumes. I had a 20% off coupon so the sticker price wasn't as bad. Then I sold all those stiff, cartoony-looking dolls on eBay. That took off another 10%. Instead of staging weddings, I used the ensembles for a debutante ball. See "Spring Cotillion:"

  4. I agree with Muff... *whoa* on that price tag... sometimes I think they forget they're making these for kids. 0_0

  5. I would never buy Disney dolls from any place other than the Disney store. All the Disney store dolls are articulated. None of the ones at the other stores are. The Moxie pack would be perfect for something like a cotillion or a quinceanera. When I was about 5 or so, I was in a Tom Thumb wedding. I was a bridesmaid. Two of my cousins played the bride and groom.

  6. Hi Muff, Marta, LimbeDolls, Heather, and Vanessa.

@Muff - sigh about the price, yes unless you can see the stuff you don't want a la LimbeDolls. Alas, I have not seen Sky, Bloom's male companion, sold solo either. He might only be available in the set. Then again, Jakks Pacific might launch him alone. Someday ....

@Marta - yes, the Moxie royalty wedding set is cute. I like the silvery bodice of her wedding gown.

@LimbeDolls - good thinking on your part about using the coupon and then selling the figures. I like the gowns, but I hadn't thought about the male fashions. And male dress apparel can be hard to get ...

@Heather - Mattel et al. are thinking about the parents' wallets, lol. Probably staking on the kids wearing down the parents ;-D

@Vanessa - thanks for letting me know that the Disney store dolls are articulated. Now I will get them there if/when I get them.

Yes, the Moxie outfits would be great for a cotillion or quinceanera. More so than a wedding, lol.

The Tom Thumb wedding sounds cute. I've never seen one or participated in one. Great idea for a doll photo too. Hmmm ... ;-D

  7. I like the outfits, but $69.99 is too pricey just for those. I'm not really a fan of the Disney dolls--eyes too big, not articulated (except for the ones at the Disney Store that Vanessa mentioned) and yes, cartoony looking. I've seen the Moxies and the Winx dolls, but they don't "talk" to me! LOL :-)

  8. Hi Cindi! Usually, I am not a fan of the Disney dolls, but sometimes, I want them. (Like Meirin's mother, Mother Goethel, etc.) I would want them more if their heads were smaller.

The Moxies have too big head and no feet (a la Bratz), but I like their fashions. The Winx dolls also have too big heads and too bony bodies so I have not yet bought any of them. But for my audience, I am happy to share their photos ;-D
