"Them" meaning M&C Toys' Power Team guys. Yes, playscale Power Team guys - wolf whistle. Where? At a Deals store in Philly. For how much - $8.00. When? Yesterday. Which ones? These two cuties shown below. Now I cannot guarantee that these same two will be available at any and every Deals store. And I am really hoping that there are even MORE Power Team guys available at other Deals stores in the city and in the near suburbs. Great news, yes? Fine, articulated male figures for our dioramas under ten dollars - oh, yes.
Here are photos of the two guys I saw and the back of their boxes. (Alas, I have not seen any ethnic figures yet, but we *know* that M&C Toys makes ethnic figures so it's just a matter of time.)

So if you are looking for any M&C Toys Power Team action figures to increase your male playscale population, stop by the Deals stores in your area. You might be pleasantly surprised.
P.S. if you want to treat yourself to photos of these action figures, peruse the photos uploaded at this Flickr site.
Hi Dana, I'm always surprised of the low prices in the U.S.A.! Or, maybe better, the high prices here. Great find, I especially like the blond guy.
ReplyDeleteHi Nymphaea! Yes, sometimes we get lucky in the U.S.A. I thought they were both cute - groan. So many temptations, here and online ;-)
ReplyDeleteI lurve that link you posted. Until I looked at that flickr I never realized that so many of the Power Team guys must be based on actors because many of the ones in his photostream remind me of very familiar character actors. Even in the photos you took, the yellow haired one looks like he could be made into Buffy's Spike.
ReplyDeleteThe guys are really cute! I had never heard of Deals. Since they are owned by Dollar Tree, we might eventually get one here.
ReplyDeleteHi Muff and AudraBark1!
ReplyDelete@Muff - glad you enjoyed the drool-worthy photos of PowerTeam guys on Flickr. If you get that figure and tweak him into Spike, please, preeze, pleeezze share photos. That would be so cool. Spike was one of my favorite Buffy characters.
@AudraBark1 - I think so, lol. Deals is a fairly new store here - a few years ago, I think. Hope you get one there and soon ;-)
I do like the term Playscale. Saw a post on FB the other day where Barbie had been rescaled to average dimensions. Very Interesting but probably not too saleable ! Same rules for Action Guys I expect !
ReplyDeleteVery handsome guys!
ReplyDeleteNever heard of Deals! The picture brought me back to the old Barbie days! I had one, but frankly dolls weren't my thing. Had the Power Team guys had been available then, well that could have changed my story!
ReplyDeleteI know some guys who collect and a sale action figures. Going to pass this over to them.
ReplyDeleteNice recommendation for people in the market for PowerTeam guys.
ReplyDeleteHi Paul Graham, Barb the Evil Genius, Jacquie, Jay, and Beth!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting this post ;-)
@Paul Graham - I like the term "playscale" because it emphasizes the handy-ness of these figures. The smaller ones get lost easily; the bigger ones take up too much space. "playscale" though is just right ... like when Goldilocks latched on to Baby Bear's bed.
By the way, I enjoyed your post on Google and Yahoo's assessment of your interests, lol. I'll be back to read more of The Daily Wail.
@Barb the Evil Genius - sigh ... those Power Team guys can be sooo handsome. 'course a few look a little silly. Nice mix up they have.
@Jacqui - Barbie isn't everyone's fave. I like her, but I like the scale she started, too. The Power Team are still holding on - great news for me - although there may not be as many new figures created some time ago. Reminder: need to check when their hey-days was.
Deals has household and grocery items, too.
@Jay - thanks for sharing this post with action figure fans. The Power Team guys are a neat alternative to the 12" G.I. Joes we don't see so often. Sigh for Joe. P.S. This is Joe's 50th Anniversary.
I agree with you about NOT blaming cheating men. How and when will they learn better?
@Beth - thanks. Yes, fewer places carry playscale Power Team figures so it is good to share when we find them.
BTW, Beth, I am glad to have discovered your blog at this time.
@Beth -
Hi Male Doll World! You're welcome. Hope you can find some of these guys in your town. Happy searching ;-)
ReplyDeleteYippee! At least yippee for the Philly people. We don't have Deals here in Atlanta. But it's so nice to see them showing up in other places.
ReplyDeleteHi Vanessa,
ReplyDeleteNo Deals in Atlanta. Tsk. But if there is a similar discount store there, that store might carry the Power Team crew. And $8.00 is a good price for them - especially with the bare hands.
Pause to Snoopy dance. BARE hands as in NO molded on gloves.
