Male Dolls and Action Figures Celebrate |
Transcript: Whooo hhhhooo! 'Bout time! Our turn, baby! Let the dudes out! It's a man's world ... Yo bro! Yahoo! Sports, we want sports! Papa's got a brand new bag. Rock 'n roll.
Sigh.
Otherwise, June first was a lovely day. A lot warmer than May first, but still a sunny day. Will I address any topics this month - besides the ones overdue from last month? (Like the rest of my Asian American dolls and action figure lists and photos and some other themes from May. No, I am not giving them up until next year.) You bet. These are some June themes that I might merge with doll and action figure posts:
Adopt-a-Shelter-Cat Month
National Caribbean-American Heritage Month
Entrepreneurs "Do It Yourself" Marketing Month
Father's Day
Gay Pride Month
and not least of these tributes: International Men's Month
I will share dolls and/or action figures that fit these themes. If you have relevant links - dolls or figures that match, let me know. I'll include your website if the figures are playscale and the site is "work safe."
Happy June 1 to you and your guys! You know that I was eyeballing Ryan Whittaker to see if he had both of his feet. :) I look forward to seeing your themed posts for the month.
ReplyDeleteI can smell the man meat from here.
ReplyDeleteIs one of those guys supposed to be Vin Diesel? The one on the far left facing me sorta looks like him, but kinda doesn't.
You have a great variety of men, too bad most of my ladies are married over her in Dotsville.
ReplyDeleteHello from Spain: Beautiful photos of your kids. Great collection. Keep in touch
ReplyDeleteYou do have a large collection of guy dolls, at least compared to what I have. My larger dolls have no males in their company at all. The lines that even have a male doll get rather expensive!
ReplyDeleteI love how having a couple of grinning faces in there makes them all look like they're having a great time!
ReplyDeleteAnd it's nice to see how they all fit together as a group when there are so many different styles of doll in there.
Hi RoxanneRoxanne, Muff, Brini, Marta, Barb the Evil Genius, and jSarie!
ReplyDelete@Roxanne - the guys and I thank you for the wishes. We send them back to you 3X ;-)
@Muff - oh they were a-cooking up some heat, lol. One of the Barbies sprayed some Febreze once the guys calmed down.
I know the fella you're talking about. Yep, he does look like a mini Vin Diesel. However, he is a Hasbro G.I. Joe Foe, a Foreign Soldier, Japanese Air Force Officer. But now that you mention it, he does look like Vin Diesel. I have to share some more photos of him.
@Brini - lol. Lots of guys here, yes. Lots of ladies, too. Usually, I only post 1 or 2 figures, but I was inspired by some of your group photos ;-) so I photographed that mini flash mob.
Why I will NOT repeat what some of these fresh guys said. Something about the Dotsville ladies having an open pass to visit - whether the ladies are married or not. Oh, they're being so rowdy because it's "THEIR" month.
@Marta - thanks! Glad you enjoyed the photos.
@Barb the Evil Genius - I have a large playscale collection. That's not a brag. That's a bit of a lament. I have to whittle the numbers down ;-P
I hear you about the cost of the larger guys. One reason that I don't have any of them. (Only have a few 15-21" female dolls from my childhood anyway.)
@jSarie - ha ha! You caught the trick. The grinning guys give the impression that they are jamming and having a great time. Helps, too, that the action figures can bend their arms and legs and twist their waist. My poor Rebelde guy got caught in the midst ;-)
Action figures. You gotta have action figures in the mix to liven up any party scene.
I'm impressed. You have some very handsome men over there. I'm glad you let them come out to play. I learn so much from these type of posts. I didn't know about most of these celebratory days.
ReplyDeleteHi Vanessa! The guys are all strutting and preening. Yeah, they are good looking. The gals are rolling their eyes, but shrug.
ReplyDeleteOh, yes, lots of celebratory days. Greeting card companies need their pounds of flesh, ha ha. Kidding. It is nice for people to feel appreciated.
Nice that they had a chance to get out and celebrate. Fathers' Day is not until September here in Australia.
ReplyDeleteHi Carrickters! Those are my single guys, lol. They are dancing in celebration of International Men's Month. The fathers are off somewhere talking with the mothers or the kiddies. Sigh. They're a little busy for a photo op now although I mean to gather them round closer to their day ;-)
ReplyDeleteIsn't it interesting how different countries have different months for the same holiday? If I were a Father, I would make a note of every Father's Day and get my kids to celebrate ALL of those days with me ;-)
I sometimes see those celebrations on the calendar. How do they come about? Great looking guys. Bring some to the meeting!
ReplyDeleteHi Ms. Leo!
ReplyDeleteI would not be surprised to learn that there was a secret coalition of greeting card advocates creating these celebrations to generate income. LOL. No, my guess is one group has a "month" and another looks and says, "Hey, what about me? I want a month too." So they chat up government and media folk and next thing you know, bam. New celebration.
I'm thinking of creating my own blogiversary this year. "A PhillyCollector Day." I'll invite everyone to join in the fun.
Alas, I didn't see this message before I left so I didn't bring the guys. Bummer. They would have LOVED being featured on another blog.
Then again, it might have really swollen their egos - ha ha, bet you thought I was going to say "heads," but I missed the double entendre - so maybe it was for the best.
