Brief Update and Random Pinterest Discovery

Good thing I didn't photograph the DAFs I thought were going. I re-dressed one doll I knew was going. Who'd have thought she'd look great re-dressed? Not I. But on the balance, I decided another doll that I thought would stay, well, she's going. Can you guess which one?

Who was slated to go? Who's leaving instead?
The dolls shown are all Black Barbies with the Nichelle face mold. They are from left to right: Halloween Fun, Avon Representative, 101 Dalmatians.
Aside: there is a Pinterest board for glamorous camping. (No, I'm not going for that after I've finished my January activities.)

    So I'm going to guess that you thought your Avon rep was going, but she's not. Instead, 101 Dalmations is going. I like the Nichelle facemold. I think that I only have 1 - the 40th anniversary Barbie AA.

    I am going to go with the others and say your Avon rep is staying. My mother sold Avon and had a few of the dolls but I don't remember the ones in the suits. I was just looking at these in the showcase on the barbie collector board the other day. Oh love the pinterest board on glam camping.

    Another vote for Team Avon! I can imagine her looking hipper and more interesting in a more modern outfit -- or elegant in a mid-century soul-singer way in a gown.

    If we're all wrong, I guess you've got plenty of peer pressure to reverse the decision.

    I love the Avon doll but she is the only one in original outfit. If you're looking to sell or move merchandise, she will sell the easier than the others which are more common. The other two look similar so it is a matter of the better body and hair condition.

    Thanks for your guesses. Answer:

    Halloween Fun initially was going. 101 Dalmatians was staying. When I redressed Halloween Fun though, her face screening and hair texture impressed me. Her original orange and black print dress didn't work for her. 101 Dalmatians has a bigger head and her face-up is more meh.

    As most of you guessed, Avon is staying. She's got interesting, textured hair, lovely face screen, and a sharp original fashion. I'm so impressed by that outfit; I have not found anything to match it. She's a doll I consider close to doll perfection. A definite keeper ;-)

    I was thinking that 101 Dalmatians was going and was now going to stay. Avon Rep was staying the whole time. I don't think anyone who would get rid of her.

    If I was removing one, then yeah, it would probably be the 101 lady. The Avon lady looks darker skin toned in the photo and since I don't have that many dolls with her skin tone, she would have been keeper material for me.

    @Vanessa - oh, I've considered that, lol. From laziness ... but no, some have got to go. I console myself with the reminder that I'll be able to enjoy rather than just hoard ;-)

    @Muff - ah you mean the Halloween Fun Barbie ... and yes, she is darker than the other two. The wine top she wears brings out her complexion. Her deep brown isn't common, and that does help make her a keeper for me, too ;-)

    Oh and her hair texture is heavy silky. Very nice.
