Discovering BTS Via Mattel's BTS Idol Dolls, Part 2

Alert: Mattel BTS J-Hope doll appearing to be "nude" is NOT nude. He has flesh-colored underpants molded on. My regular readers won't be triggered by "doll nudity," but for any new visitors offended by undressed dolls - who are anatomically abstract - you might want to skip this post.

For this post, I thought I'd show the Mattel BTS members with other dolls and action figures in my collection. Seeing them among familiar dolls and action figures can help you decide whether you'd like to purchase them. Or confirm that, no, they really aren't your taste.

So there I have shown 2 of the BTS members among different dolls and action figures. They can wear some Ken fashions and some Vivid Imaginations' fashions (the last 2 photos with J-Hope show him borrowing The Wanted Max's hoodie and pants) although the clothes are a little big for them. I'm going to go through my play scale fashions for better fits. Offhand, I think Takara Ken/Jeff fashions might work and some articulated Ken's clothes (The Young Sweethearts' Michael, Harley Davidson Kens, and similar rangy-built Kens) might also suit.

Any clothes suggestions welcome for these guys. Has anyone tried Justin Bieber fashions on them?

  1. Nice comparison post! I did run to the closest Five Below, they only had the blonde and blonde/pink haired dolls... I would have bought a dark haired one, but chose to pass. Have a nice week:@)

  2. Thanks for the comparison post, and congratulations on getting Jin! The BTS guys are pretty small, but guys are different sizes in real life.

  3. Hi and thanks, Linda, Lynn, and Barb for commenting!

@Linda. Yay! Glad to help you decide. Glad also that you're getting them; crossing my fingers for you. I think they're so cute - and affordable, lol. BTW, my guys are strutting around now, preening almost. Beautiful them ;-)

@Lynn - glad you liked the post. In Philly, I've seen the dark-haired guys at the Five Below in Center City (The one on Chestnut Street had several RMs and J-Hopes.) If I see them, I'll mention it. I heard Walmarts had them reduced, but I haven't seen them at the Walmarts I went to - the one in South Philly and the one in Bridesburg. Good luck getting a dark-haired guy - they're out there. You have a good week, too.

@Barb - you're welcome. You inspired the post. Yes, the BTS guys are on the small size - I'm glad Mattel did NOT use the Slim Fashionista body for them though. I like my play scale world to reflect the variety of heights and builds for guys.
