Yay, right? Well ... maybe not so much "yay" as "awww." Why? Alas, the dolls are not sold in the U.S.A. They might be sold only in India. That seems to be the case so far. Sigh.
Checking online vendors, I see that Ram Chander and Sons ship all over the world. Their doll cost is 1,999 Rs - $32.06* - for either Sahir Ken or Aaliya Barbie. That price seems about what we would pay for movie-based dolls here. What about shipping and handling? Let's break that down:
Buying one of the Dhoom dolls:
$32.06* Ken doll
$45.00 Shipping 1 doll
$77.06
Buying both of the Dhoom dolls:
$64.12* Barbie/Ken dolls
$67.70 Shipping 2 dolls
$131.82
Those prices are for dolls mint in their original boxes going to the U.S.A. If you are buying multiple dolls AND if you have no interest in retaining the Mattel box, the RCS team will debox the dolls, which would lower the postage cost. If you want your Dhoom doll or dolls sent to another country, please e-mail them at rcstoys@gmail.com . You will receive information for shipping to your country.
Payment is via online bank transfer or Paypal. (Note: Paypal charges are extra. Additional note: the base cost does not include customs fees and the exact figure which might vary depending on currency conversion for the day.*)

You're welcome, Allenoel! Thanks for sharing the link to more IRL photos of the Dhoom dolls. Do you think that the Dhoom Barbie has a new face mold?
ReplyDeleteI really like that the doll looks like the actress and looks Indian.
ReplyDeleteWow that doll looks awesome, but why wouldn't they articulate the guy as well? And he sure has A LOT of muscles. Like muscles on muscles.
ReplyDeleteThese look brilliant!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing the links!
Hi and thanks, Chasing Joy, Muff, and jSarie!
ReplyDelete@Chasing Joy - I like those points about this doll also. The resemblance to the actress and Mattel getting the ethnic look right.
@Muff - yes, she does look awesome ;-) Pity they did not articulate the Dhoom Ken as well. My guess, maybe it's cheaper and they felt they could paint up the muscles better on the male Model Muse body. (At least, I think it's the male Model Muse body.)
@jSarie - agree with your assessment ;-) I am happy to share the links. Speaking of link sharing, I'm leaving a live link to your website. Always nice to meet someone who collects both dolls AND action figures.
Hola, que bonita es, disfrutala mucho.
ReplyDeleteHola, Lindaivette montes de oca, y gracias por los buenos deseos.
ReplyDeleteThe Dhoom barbie is absolutely stunning!!!!
ReplyDelete@D7ana Her face mold looks new to me. I love her nose. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Refreshedfindsjunkies and Allenoel! I was thinking she has a new face mold, but I wasn't 100% sure. I LOVE her nose, too. It has an interesting curl to it. Long, thin, and not hooked, but curved. Interesting.
ReplyDeleteI have to see about getting her, I think she is such a beautiful doll sculpt. I appreciated that they didn't give her the atypical Barbie upturned nose.
ReplyDeleteYes, she is stunning, Pattidolls. I like her personalized face sculpt, too.
ReplyDeleteWonder if they will begin using that face mold for other dolls. Fingers crossed ....
Thanks for visiting ;-)
I unfortunately JUST learned of these dolls. Now I have to wait for someone to sell the for lots of money on ebay :(
