I-Girl Paris and Marx Wall Oven |
"At the bottom, we have a cabinet." |
"Above the heating area, we have more cabinet space." |
"The wall oven has two areas. The lower one is the main oven with 2 adjustable racks." |
"The top area is the broiler. It only has 1 rack that you can leave in or remove for more space." |
"Broiler opens top down; oven opens right to left." |
"Fudge. You should see both cabinets open. There." |
"Kurt, help me show the height. Over 12 inches." |
"The back and sides are white plastic and closed. The yellowy marks are from age." |
"This cookware - "glass" pan, silvery baking dish, and grill pan - also came with the wall oven." |
Thanks, Paris, for your help. Does anyone have any questions about this Sindy appliance?
Paris is a Lanard fashion doll. She is one of the I-Girls (Asia, Aspen, Rio, Sahara, and Sydney) that I bought them from a doll/toy boutique, Small Blue Planet, many years ago. There doesn't seem to have been a large distribution of the I-Girls, but I found a new article on this line today. My research senses are tingling. I'll post more about Paris and the other I-Girls in the future.
Really cute post. Makes me feel like a kid again.
ReplyDeleteI-Girl did a very good presentation, that's a great toy, I love all the details!
ReplyDeleteOh that Sindy piece is so nicely detailed! I Paris did a great job. Did she come articulated, or was she switched out?
ReplyDeleteHi and thanks for your comments, Chasing Joy, Nymphaea, and Vanessa!
ReplyDelete@Chasing Joy - glad you enjoyed the post ;-)
@Nymphaea - I agree with you and Vanessa that I-Girl Paris did a great job presenting the wall oven. But it is a well-made piece even 16 years later ;-)
@Vanessa - the Marx/Pedigree details inspired me to get as many of those furnishings as I could get ;-)
I-Girl Paris is on her original body. Here is a link to photos of another I-Girl, Aspen, nude.
Very nice doll ,oven and demo! That double oven is to die for!
ReplyDeleteHi and thanks, Ms. Leo. Marx/Pedigree made quality products. I got most of mine from Playtown in South Philly, Kiddie City, and my SceneSetter from Renel in South Philly. Remember when we had multiple toy stores in Philly? Sigh. And Big Blue Planet way, way out in the suburbs?
ReplyDeleteHello from Spain: I like the oven. It seems real. In my country that Sindy furniture is not for sale. Keep in touch
ReplyDeleteHola, que bonito horno, que bien que lo conseguiste tan en buenas condiciones.
ReplyDeleteI saw the 1st photo in my reader before I read the title of the post and thought to my myself, "Wow, that looks like a computer from the 70's!, only to find out it was an oven, lol.
ReplyDeleteEven if it's not a rad computer, it's still a darn sweet oven.
Hi Marta, Lindaivette montes de oca, and Muff!
ReplyDelete@Marta - yes, the oven was well-made. The company no longer makes them so they are not for sale here either.
@Lindivettte - Gracias por notarlo, Linda! Yo soy la suerte de tener todavía él.
@Muff - yes, it does look like a 70's computer, Muff, lol. That golden color is sooo 70s, isn't it? Harvest gold, right? And remember avocado green appliances ;-)
Nice oven! Yes the color is so 70's. We had gold appliance too, and gold velvety furniture (oh my). Your oven has held up well and looks great.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing old vintage barbie and playsets from the 80s and 90s, They're such a rare sight especially when reading people's blogs. Every collector blogs I see all the new dolls that comes out. Its hard to resist new dolls when everyone's got them.
ReplyDeleteWas reading your Jamal post, I love the 1997 face mold, you dont see face mold often. Yes his eyes were much more cartoonish but they were so big and pretty! I also like the 2001 and 2002 jamal face molds too- they start looking realistic.
Im always trying to curb my collection down so I can make way for new dolls. It can be such a time consuming process.
Christine
Hi Roxanne and Christine!
ReplyDelete@Roxanne - yes, the Sindy wall oven has held up well considering ;-)
I was trying to think of the other cover - Harvest Gold, Avocado, and ... Burnt Orange or Rust.
@Christine - I like to share older stuff because sometimes those older things are "new" to younger readers or readers who weren't following dolls or action figures then.
Glad you like the larger eyes of the 1990s dolls. I will be posting about them soon.
Oh yes, keeping a balance in our collecting is a challenge.Like you, I am reducing my collection. Love some of what I have but others, need to go so someone else can enjoy them and so I can get NEW dolls and action figures ;-)
I love this piece, TheRealDollNerd was kind enough to find all the pieces for me awhile back. Remember this post? It's a makeover!

What a great oven with all that working detail and accessories. And still in such good condition after all these years.
ReplyDeleteDana! Please Pin away :)
ReplyDeleteHi Super Cool Doll House and Carrickters!
ReplyDelete@Super Cool Doll House - thanks for sharing that link with us. I LOVE that kitchen and totally admire your makeover. TheRealDollNerd is super kind and super sweet to have found those pieces for you ;-) I will be pinning away tomorrow, lol.
@Carrickters - I consider myself lucky. They used to make great toys. Built to last ;-)
Where was this oven when I was a kid? I love it! I was totally taken back by the pyrex baking dish and the temp displayed on the oven. Genuis!
ReplyDeleteHi Refreshedfindsjunkies! The Sindy furniture shown in this post and in others to come are from 1978. I love that pyrex baking dish, too. Marx and Pedigree did excellent jobs with those pieces.
ReplyDeleteThank you to share with us these pictures.
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome, Shasarignis! I am glad that you enjoyed seeing the oven reviewed ;-)
