Need inspiration for a playscale church for your dolls and action figures?
Check out this incredible church by Mr. Jose Serrano as shown on Pinterest. Amazing, right? The realism and the grandeur of the building just engrosses my eyes. It looks as if we could walk in. Want to see more of it? Mr. Serrano shares additional photos on the self-described "world's #1 website for GI Joe Collections." You can see other G.I. Joe collections from that website, too.
Another link from that G.I. Joe Collections website is the Collector's Tips-n-Tricks page. Some of the tips are familiar like using IKEA Detolf, but there are some new ones. Or you might want to contact the webmaster Mark Otnes. Maybe you have some tips you would like to share with them.

Happy clicking.
Whoa, that church is fantastic! I'm in awe of the crafting and that it's Styrofoam.
ReplyDeletehis work is incredible, I found it long ago when I created my 1:6 scale diorama board on pinterest

and was scoping out GI Joe collections. I really wish he had a flicker album or blog that I could visit daily. His techniques are really incredible and it is nothing more than builder's foam, styrofoam and cardboard.
That church is simply awesome! The detail is incredible - truly an inspiration for the rest of us. :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Muff, Lisa Neault, and Cindi Mortensen!
ReplyDelete@Muff - yeah, it's someTHING, that church.
@Lisa Neault - cool, I'm following your Pinterest 1:6 scale diorama board now ;-)
I would LOVE to see how he created that church from start to finish. Sigh. Would be nice.
BTW, Corsetkitten has a similar themed board and I do, too. In case you were interested in connecting with other playscale enthusiasts on Pinterest ;-)
@Cindi Mortensen - injavascript:void(0)spiration, indeed. Couldn't you look at it for days?
It looks like he has put a lot of work into his website! The link are a good source of information too. The dioramas have great details...
ReplyDeleteWow! That is very impressive!
ReplyDeleteI can't even imagine how long it must have taken to construct that church. If I started now, I might be able to finish something like it by the time Mr. BTEG retires. Maybe.
ReplyDeleteI've heard a lot about the wonders of Ikea storage. Too bad there's no Ikea near me.
Holy cow, that church!
ReplyDeleteNow I know how I'm spending my next bus commute... gazing soulfully at G.I. Joe collections. #meaning #purpose
Hi Ms. Leo, Chasing Joy, Barb the Evil Genius, and Smaller Places.
ReplyDelete@Ms. Leo - glad you found the links useful. Those Joe collectors mean business about their dioramas ;-)
@Chasing Joy - I was blown away in admiration.
@Barb the Evil Genius - me neither, lol. Or you and Mr. BTEG can have a joint project during his retirement. (Nerve of me, hmmm. Tsk.)
The tricky thing about IKEA furniture is that the Detolf unit is delicate. Shifting it can cause pieces to come out. It's a lovely piece. One mover actually moved a set up Detolf for me without breaking it. Another mover broke a boxed Detolf. Hid it behind some other things so I didn't see it until after they left. So and sos.
@Smaller Places - holy cow would find that a fitting church ;-)
Glad you will have some visual fun on your next bus commute. Do share links if you are inspired to follow that example.
Oh my goodness that was exciting!! I looked at all of the GI Joe stuff! I can't add another feature to my set up...can I? LOL AWESOME!
ReplyDeleteHi The grandmommy! Glad to share great G.I. Joe stuff. You'd be surprised what you can add ;-)
