Halloween U.K. Style: Playscale Weeping Angel Tutorials



Psst … want a new monster for Halloween 2014? Maybe you are tired of vampires and zombies. What about the Weeping Angels? The Weeping Angels are life-sucking villains who appeared in the revamped Doctor Who. If a Weeping Angel appears, you have to keep your eyes on it because if you break eye contact, it can touch you and then feed on your life-force. Shudder. Not a creature I would like to encounter, but good for scares. Another collector had shared the first tutorial for creating playscale Weeping Angels on her Facebook page earlier this year. This seems a good time to  convert one or more of your disposable Barbie clones into these dangerous creatures.

Tutorial 2 suggests using the "sand" textured paint instead of the "stone" textured paint.


 P.S. I will not be making any of these Weeping Angels anytime soon - and no, I'm not afraid that the playscale figures will trigger the creatures. I am terribly busy. That is the story I am sticking to. May you enjoy the tutorials and do keep a mirror opposite whatever creature you create. Just in case.

    These sound like quite frightening creatures indeed! I won't be making any, but it was cool to see the tutorials.

    Brrr, scary angels! It's an original idea though, they would look great in a graveyard diorama (again, brrr!).

    I don't watch Dr. Who, but these are definitely scary! I probably won't be making these either, but it would be a good use for all those unarticulated bodies I have laying around! Hmmmm.

    @The grandmommy - uh-huh ... I believe you ;-)

    @RoxanneRoxanne - they're scary because who would not blink eventually? Glad you liked the tutorials; they were neat.

    @Night Owl - yes, they would make a graveyard diorama even more creepy.

    @Phyllis - yes, they would make good use of doll parts. Now you have "partial" Weeping Angel kits (minus paint, stands, and robes). LOL. Wonder if they would sell on Etsy under that "header?" "Killing" myself with puns.

    Yes, I did watch that episode. How did you know? Interesting tutorial, but I think they'd be too creepy to have around.

    Hi D7ana, I'm pretty scared by figures with no eyeball, just like grandmommy, before I looked at the tutorial I thought they were something like Lovecraft's "night-gaunts"......
    I'm not a crafty kind of girl, but these tutorial are always interesting, one can never tell...these are things that should come in handy in the future

    @Billa's Dolls and Fashions - I used to be terrified about figures with no eyeballs. Guess I thought that they'd come after me for mine? Shrug. Glad you found the tutorials interesting, though. And yes, we never know what will come in handy in the future. Or even what we'l watch. (Like me with these Doctor Who episodes ...)

    Hi Muff! Yes, some of the Kid Connection clones have articulated knees, but they don't all have articulated elbows.

    And yes, both the bloggers were creative.
