Happy Halloween!
Mattel Flavas P Bo (Street wave) is dressed as a space opera starlet. Notice the improved head-body proportion? She's on a Blue Box Toys (aka Bbi) Joanna Dark body.
Her hair is a little wild - she's mussed it, she's that frazzled. She'd like to know: does anyone recall her being designated the Hispanic Flavas character? By Mattel, on any of Mattel's literature.
She thanks you in advance for any feedback.
Her proportion is great. I wish I tell you more about her.
ReplyDeleteVery sexy lady. I thought Tika was the Hispanic Flavas character.
ReplyDeleteAccording to Kattis dolls, P Bo was the caucasian version. http://kattisdolls.net/facesIV/fc_FlavasPBo.htm
ReplyDeleteHi D7ana, she looks beautiful, I like her hair and the proportions are perfect
ReplyDeleteHello from Spain: I really like this doll. Keep in touch
ReplyDeleteA beautiful doll D7ana, with a very pretty face!
ReplyDeleteShe looks good on this body! I hope you had a Happy Halloween!
ReplyDeleteHi The grandmommy, limbe dolls, Phyllis, billa's dolls and fashions, Marta, and Night Owl! Thanks for your comments.
ReplyDeleteOddly enough, I never thought that Tika was the Hispanic character. I thought she was South Asian. I do not recall ever seeing a specific ethnicity assigned to her. Shrug.
P Bo could be "white" and Hispanic. The former is her race; the latter, her ethnicity. The U.S. Census splits those categories.
The dolls can be whatever we choose. I am trying to figure out what I read years ago that "locked" Hispanic for P Bo. So I put the question out in case anyone else heard it ;-)
Hi RoxanneRoxanne - yes, that body does become her. And I think shes a lot prettier than the original head.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the Halloween wish. I had a nice one. I hope yours was fun, too ;-)
Thank you sweetie for your comment! I loved the picture! :))
ReplyDeleteHi Never too old for dolls! Glad you love the photo ;-)
ReplyDeleteNice costume. I think Tika was the Hispanic Flavas and P.Bo was Caucasian.
ReplyDeleteHi Male Doll World!
ReplyDeleteThe outfit came with the Joanna Dark action figure. I just wish that her gloves were not molded on.
Thanks for your Flavas feeedback. Usually, I would have considered Tika Hispanic by her complexion. Happy D and P Bo, I considered "white" with P Bo being "white Hispanic."
I'm checking various doll boards to see if anyone else was under that impression about P Bo.
Happy belated Halloween! For some reason I was also under the impression that P-Bo was intended to be Hispanic, and Happy-D caucasian. No idea if I actually read that somewhere, or if it's just my interpretation. Does the text on their boxes give any hints?
ReplyDeleteHi Anderson's All-Purpose! Happy belated Halloween to you, too!
ReplyDeleteYou're the first to say that. I think the Sporty P Bo wore sneakers with "Hispania" printed on them. Maybe that's why? No text on the box specifies her as Hispanic though. Sigh. Puzzler, isn't it?
Thanks for sharing that thought. I don't feel as zany ;-D
