When I listed the Mixis dolls, I mentioned that only three of the original four dolls appeared in the First Edition (previously described as the Limited Edition here and elsewhere). Well, guess who now appears in the First aka Limited Edition and wearing a cute denim outfit? Houda!
Applause!
You can see the First Edition Houda on the Mixis website for $59.99 Canadian dollars OR for a reduced price at the Super Shopping Channel for $36.66 Canadian dollars. (Aside: I have submitted a query asking if this online vendor sells to customers outside of Canada like the U.S.A. or overseas; I have not heard back from them yet. Well, it is Saturday ;-D) This website might be a treat for those who want every doll in the series, here's your chance to add a second Houda to your collection. Please note though that if the First Edition Houda is like the other First Edition dolls, her elbows are straight.
The Super Shopping Channel also has some other Mixis dolls AND the outfits in sets of two for sale. Ah, new Mixis news.
Brotherly love in playscale: finding diversity in fashion dolls and action figures from the 1960s to now: Barbie, Fashion Royalty, Momoko, Susie, GI Joe, Power Team, Mixis.

KMart Has New Stuff! Trumps Toys R Us
I was pleasantly surprised to find at the Market East Kmart these dolls:
Moxie Boyz, Jaxson and Owen
But my favorite was the Mattel [Barbie] Twilight Victoria:
I love her face screening and her gorgeous hair. Guess Jacob won't be my only Twilight doll.

Not Separated at Birth or Vitamin C Not from Mbili Facemold
Okay, everyone can agree: Dana needs her eyes examined.
In an earlier post, I included Vitamin C as one of the dolls created with the Mbili face mold. Please see the close-up photo below:
Hmmm ... I sit corrected. Vitamin C's face is a little longer and a little wider. I should have double-checked at Katti's Dolls website that shows the second Grand Entrance Barbie (2002) made with the Angel face and the Princess of South Africa Barbie made with the Mbili face mold.
Here Princess of South Africa and Vitamin C stand with Kayla. Kayla has a similar face mold to Vitamin C's Angel face mold. It would take me some time to differentiate them, but the face molds are listed separately. They are lovely dolls, aren't they?

New Toys R Us Express Store
A new Toys R Us Express store opened at 73 N. 69th Street this past Monday, August 16, 2010. This store will be the first dedicated toy store to this area since the K B Toys closed in 2008. Perhaps Toys R Us Express stores will open where KB Toys had existed. Wheee! More dedicated toy space.
(Important because someday I'm going to be on the buying end.)

Temptations at Target
I saw two of the Red Collection Barbie Basics (Target exclusives): No. 1, the pale, blond Barbie and No. 8, the brown-skinned, red haired Mbili. Big whoop, huh? Big whoop, YES! The Target Mbili has curly hair. Whoo, hoo! Textured hair.
Oh, I could curse Mattel for their artistry. The curly-hair makes that Mbili-faced doll pop. Even though I remind myself that I have several Mbili-faced dolls already - the first Raven, two AA Zodiac Barbies, Princess of South Africa, Vitamin C, and the first SIS Kara doll – I find myself considering this doll. Never mind that I want at least one each SIS character Trichelle, Chandra, and possibly Grace. Ah but is it Mattel or the weakness in me? The collector bug?
Aside: Target has the Princess to Frog Tiana on sale for $6.22 though. Possibly because they want to move on to the next Mattel-Disney franchise, Rapunzel. (Rapunzel dolls are now available.)
Walmart Update - New SIS Dolls!
New SIS Sightings! Last week, I saw the Heart 2 Shop Trichelle and Chandra set at Target.
This week, I see Walmart has the second set of Rocawear single doll So in Style dolls. Grace, Kara, Trichelle, and Chandra each wears her second Rocawear fashion. (No Darren, but then did he even get a different outfit?) Walmart also has the Heart 2 Shop Trichelle and Chandra set. Once upon a time, I would have nabbed that Trichelle and Chandra set and ran to the cashier. Once upon a time …

Selling Dolls - Unexpected Response
I've been selling some of my collection recently. While once I would have thought that selling my dolls would leave me feeling sad and abandoned, the reality is 180 degrees different. I feel happy.
Happy for more space? No, I haven't sold that many dolls.
Happy to have less responsibility? No, again, I haven't sold enough to feel a dent.
Happy to *hear* the joy in other collectors' messages? Yes, that is it.
It's like I get a vicarious thrill from the buyers' excitement. Like I am getting the doll all over again, all new. Only it's not the doll, but the shared experience, the pleasure of brightening someone else's day. I recall how I felt when I first received the doll and see that or a similar joy in the other person. That's the source of my "good feeling" - reflecting back another's happiness.
