Dancing Liv Dolls - Toy Fair 2011

Here's an ASMzine photo of the new Dancing Liv Dolls for 2011.

Ah Spinmaster! What a wonderful way to go!

Mattel/Disney Pirates of the Caribbean?!

Thanks to Niel's post about the new articulated Barbie Basics, I checked out the ASMzine website for information on the 2011 Barbies. Guess what's coming next? Pirates of the Caribbean as you have NEVER seen them before. Disney Dolls as NEVER seen before. Check this photograph and others for incredible face sculpts of a playscale Johnny Depp that will open your eyes. WIDE.

February: Month of Hearts and ToyFair

When you think of February, what images come to mind? Red and pink hearts, white lace doilies, cards, roses and other flowers, but best of all, chocolate. Heart beat accelerating. Anxious sweating. Hand wringing. Wishing and hoping and hopping from foot to foot take up more time. With all this emotional stuff occurring, it must be about Valentine’s Day, right? Ummm … no. With February looming, I think of

TOY FAIR 2011!

Yes, it's that time again. New dolls, new action figures, and new STUFF!

Don't forget to check at Asmzine or your favorite doll and action figure news for when their pages update with news about the new 2011 dolls and action figures!

Spin Master Liv Dolls Spring and Fall 2010 Previews

This photo shows two of the new Spin Master Liv fashions I saw in Target today.

Remember how I mentioned "downsizing"? Remember how I didn't have any interest in the Liv dolls because their heads are too big? Well, downsizing has become even more important now that I have seen the Liv offerings for 2010. Even if I will probably replace the heads. But LivWorld stuff is now on my unofficial Want List.

[Note: for those who need a refresher about who the Liv dolls are, please refer to this post by Charles of DollStuff.]

Toronto-based Spin Master has some impressive accessories lined up for this Spring and Fall. Think of a drum set for Daniela, a store window to be dressed by Alexis, a horse, a new doll called Hayden with her adorable bunny, and did I mention cool fashions? But I'll let the Toy Fair photos on Flickr show how this line has enchanted me.

Additional information can be found on the Liv blog. Yes, the Liv dolls have inspired a blog. Whhooo hooo!

Toy Fair 2010: Links for Doll and Action Figure Previews

Barbies and Joes and Harumika, oh my!

It's that time again. Mid-February means Toy Fair is here. New dolls, new action figures, new playsets, etc.

ASMzine has doll AND action figure news.

However, if action figures are your preference, try Master Collector online for updates on 12" G.I. Joes and other playscale figures. There might be some doll news, but the emphasis here is action figures and toys (non doll items).

Other 2010 photos and reviewers can be found online in various Yahoo Groups, collectors' photo albums, etc. The best part of Winter is here. View, savor, plan, and enjoy!

Integrity Janay Links to Click

Integrity Janay fans, I found some places to discuss and to view these dolls.

First, there is a Janay focused Yahoo Group. You will need to join the Group to view the photos and to read the messages. There are 22 photo albums in the Group as well as links to MORE Janay and friends photo albums outside the Group. No cost to join.

Second, a 2007 post about saving Janay.

Next, two links to beautiful photo albums by a collector:

Toy Fair 2009 Photos by Asmzine

One of my favorite sources for Toy Fair information is Asmzine. They have been covering the Toy Fair since 2000. They have photos of the Mattel Barbie dolls and setting.

As the week progresses, they may have information about the Integrity lines, too.

Mixis News and Link to a Photo

I've been searching for photos of the 2009 Mixis dolls, but I haven't found any yet. I submitted a query about any online photos to YNU Group in case there are any official ones out that I haven't found. The Canadian Toy Association held their Toy Fair on January 24-26, 2009; the Mixis were at Booth 819. So maybe, maybe there are photos out now. If not now, I'll wait until after the U.S. Toy Fair later this month.

HOWEVER, I did find a photo of the new Mixis Wardrobe at the Canadian Toy Association's web page:

CTA Mixis Wardrobe

I can't tell whether the wardrobe is made from wood or particle board or plastic. Those details will follow. But to have found the photo pleases me. Photos of the dolls will come later. It would be great if ASM (formerly Altered States Magazine) at www.asmzine.com and www.alteredstatesmag.com would review the Mixis dolls. Well, I can dream hmmmmm?

Fabulous February - Toy Fair

Date: February 15–18, 2009

Place: The Jacob Javits Center in New York City

Event: T O Y F A I R 2009!

Okay, needless to say as a mere doll and action figure enthusiast, I will NOT be attending Toy Fair. Sigh. Perhaps someday, one day, I will be able to attend the largest doll show with innumerable toy manufacturers, toy buyers, and the toy press ... one day, I will attend as a member of the press. In the meantime, I will scour every web source and paper source I can BEFORE, DURING, and AFTER. As a collector, it is my business to learn as much as I can so that I can search store shelves or online websites. Can't miss anything exciting.

So one theme for February will be Toy Fair news.
