Momoko and Similar-Sized Dolls
In a previous post, I uploaded photos showing the bare bodies of some larger 1:6 scale dolls and female action figures. In this post, I want to show variations in some smaller 1:6 scale dolls - the Momokos, Susies, Volks, and Azone dolls. (A comparable sized doll, Takara's Jenny, does not appear because the first Momokos, the Petworks Momokos, use the SAJ or Super Action Jenny body.) These photos show from left to right:
Petworks Momoko 2002, R&D Susie, Petworks/R&D Goth Girl Momoko 2003, Sekiguchi Momoko, Azone Reina Sarafan a la Mode, and Volks Who's That Girl? Kana.
(Note that the Sekiguchi Momoko is the shortest at around 10" tall.)
The second photo has a closer look of the dolls' different joints, etc. Of the four shown here, Kana has the prettiest and the most flexible articulation. Susie has the prettiest, most-realistic face though. Azone Reina has the fullest breasts.
These dolls can share some Barbie fashions although the later teen Skipper fashions from 2000 fit them better.

New Momoko Doll: City in the Sea
Thanks to Rudi's post on R&D Spotlight, I now know that Petworks Dolls is on Twitter. And guess what's new? City in the Sea Momoko.
Her mouth differs from the Momokos that I have; the vibrant red color seems to extend below her natural bottom lip so she seems to pout. Her hair color has two-tones - ashy blond and some darker color - burgundy, black? The outfit has a sailor top and short bottoms. She is cute, but I can't say that I am overwhelmed to buy her. Still, it's interesting to know.

Sharp and Susie, Part II

Here's a closer photo of Sonokong's Leather Mania Sharp and R&D's Ibiza Heat Susie. Sharp's larger eyes and paler face initially made me think that her head was larger than it actually is. I thank fellow collector, Niel for the tip that that was not the case. The dolls both have heads approximately 1 1/16 inches wide.

Sharp and Susie, Part I

Here's a photo of Sonokong's Leather Mania Sharp and R&D's Tokyo Trendy Susie. As I mentioned previously, I love Sharp's curly hair - even if it is a little sparse at the back - her over-sized but sleepy eyes, and that she seems to wear "white pancake" (thick liquid) foundation that contrasts with her pinkish complexion. She's the only Asian fashion doll that I have whose face contrasts vividly with her complexion. (Whoa, I need to check among my Momokos. Note to self.)
This Susie is the Tokyo Trendy Susie from The Premiere Collection. I bought her from R&D. Tokyo Trendy is from the February 2004 release Premiere Collection - 300 of the Tokyo Trendy Susie dolls were issued. This Susie is one of my favorites with her "candy apple red" hair and lovely green eyes.
There are similarities in Sharp's and Susie's bodies, but their faces contrast. Sharp seems more anime-influenced. Her head is larger (but not annoyingly so). Susie has a more realistic look and more natural head proportion. Both dolls wear "leather," but Sharp's suit is conservative while Susie's black buckled dress reflects the video game assignment she was hired to promote. If you click on the link for Tokyo Trendy Susie on the R&D Susie page, you can see additional photos of her.
I will submit a fuller review of Susie and possibly Sharp in future posts.

Francie Clothes and Visitor
I mentioned Francie clothes the other day, but I only photographed the Barbie & Francie double doll case and some of my Mod dolls in the case. In the following photos, Twiggy and Meg (Bend leg Francie) spread some Francie outfits for a visitor who borrows one of the dresses, "Fresh as a Daisy."
Francie had bright, fun coats:

Clear Out! deserves a photo of its own

A few mod dresses:

Who is the guest visitor? Ibizia Susie!
