Patterns for the Mixis Dolls - What Would You Want?

"Just one pattern OUR size ... that's all I ask!"

Houda and Opal would like more clothes. Clothes are a passion of fashion dolls. I have plastic bins full of fashion doll clothes, but the Mixis shape is decidedly rounder and fuller at the buttocks than the mounds of mostly Barbie fashions I have. Homemade clothes would expand their wardrobe.

If you were to sew fashions for your Mixis dolls, what kinds of pattern would you want? I have a new poll in the sidebar. Please let me know what your Mixis pattern interests are and I will forward that information to Debbie Goodland, YNU Group, Inc. Owner.

I've been trying to teach myself to draft clothing patterns (no, not much luck so far haha)... sewing by hand gets really frustrating too...

Do you make clothes for your dolls?

I would like some of all of these please. :) I voted for tailored suits, coats, shirts.

Dolls need a wide range of wardrobe Other than the casual and work outfits, dolls need clothes for a variety of leisure activities like sports, dates, and parties. Parties alone is a wide umbrella which could include formal, cocktails and costume parties.

I case you can't wait for the pattern they'll release, you may want to make your own using this tutorial: http://www.dolls-n-daggers.com/Dolls/OOAKtipssewing.php#Patterns

I used to hand-make some doll clothes from Simplicity and McCall patterns when I young. I haven't made anything new for some time. It doesn't take long to finish simpler pieces for playscale figures.

I'll pull out some things I did back then.

Thanks, Roxanne and Niel, for your votes and your comments. How could I forget sports? And that reminds me, profession-related clothes like matador costumes, chefs' wear, etc. Per the Mixis blog, Houda likes to cook so tunics and aprons for her ....

Thanks also, Niel, for the sewing link. I'll write a post with sewing links and include that one - along with the proper credit ;-)

Great picture of Houda and Opal... what's a girl to do with such limitations placed on her wardrobe?

Thanks for the compliment, Debbie! With Winter lurking and Fall officially starting next week, the Mixis girls are understandably stressed.

I might have to use Opal's jeans to create a pattern. Anything to avoid Houda's dramatics spreading among the others LOL.

Poor Houda! :D I think you're getting better at your posing and photoing.

Yes, poor Houda ... she's determined to see that she and her friends have "proper" fall and winter clothes.

Thanks for the compliment; I'm trying to remember to improve my photos ;-D
