Disco Wanda's New Body
Hi yall!
Disco Wanda here. Yall might remember me from the Morristown Wedding? (Laughs.) No, I was not the bride. I was one of the guests. I went with Old Joe and some teenagers? Yes, ma'am, that Wanda. Anywho, I just wanted to holler at yall and let yall know that I gots a new body now. Yes, indeedy. A new body.
Now that don't make me no new woman. I am still the same Disco Wanda who loves to party, but I can boogie better with this new body. A Monsieur Z gal named Jungle Fever, had it before me. See that tan safari top that some um person like to call a dress? That was her style, but yall remember me. And one thing I am not is a hootchy woman. Not Disco Wanda. I likes to party, but I party like a Lady. First and foremost. My Momma didn't raise no hootchy mamas. So any perves out there, look your look 'cause you ain't ever gonna see me dressed like that again. My old top, skirt, and belt is a little too big for me now. This one skinny body. No offense meant, yall. And like I said, well, my old top surely is too big - but I ain't gonna be gadding about in slut-style. No, indeedy. The Good Lord did not mean me to be a hootchy woman. My Momma did not raise no hootchy woman. So I will find me some decent, Christian clothes if I have to expire in a tweed coat over the summer. Not that I am planning that, yall. Just saying how far I will go to not be no hootchy woman. Not saying God don't love hootchy women, but I ain't going down that path, hear?
"Wanda, your Momma's calling ..."
Okay, tell her I'm comin' chile.
Ain't that nice, yall? One of them little chippies telling me my Momma's on the line. Lord, I better get there. Momma don't hold with no long distance playing. I just wanted to let yall know about the new body and how I am going to put it to good use.
"Wanda ... "
Alright, alright. I'm coming. Yall take care, now. God bless ...

Hmmm... Wanda certainly has an interesting dialect.
I like her new body.
dbg
Yes, she is trying to sound different from the other young women. Sigh.
The Integrity Toys Monsieur Z Jungle Fever body is a good match for her.
This body looks like a good match for Wanda!
LOL, hoochified women better steer clear of Miss Wanda and her Momma. If she's looking for Christian clothes then Barbie wear might not be the place to look.
Wandy is funny! Poor thing, thinking that's a hootchy momma dress. Too loose and not enough showing to be a hootchy momma dress. And what year is here momma living in where she is still paying by the minute for long distance? Love her new body. Too bad she didn't have it at the wedding. They could have really gotten down. But I think they were still dancing up a storm.
Wanda is very funny. A disco lady should be free to make all kinds of moves so I'm glad she got a new body.
Disco Wanda is one of the dolls I have been looking for on E-Bay besides Mego Cher and others. Love those 70's dolls. But having no luck! D7ana you are so good at matching bodies for different dolls you should right a book. I would certainly buy it. Can't match skintones for the life of me. Would be a great reference book.
Her new body is great. I like her2nd outfit on her better than Jungle Fever's.
Wanda seems to be from the deep south somewhere...hmm. Seems to be loud too (at least how I envision her voice) LOL
I love her spirit, she is fiesty! Looks like a good match too.
Hi Roxanne, Muff, Vanessa, Limbe Dolls, Frannie, and Dollz4Moi!
Thanks for the compliments about the new body for Wanda. The new body up close is a hair fraction lighter than Wanda's face, but overall, the complexion is a good match. I'm pleased with the combination.
I was less happy with the Jungle Fever outfit on Wanda. It is a cute outfit, but it opened wide and showed what Wanda calls her "goodies."
And Muff, you are right, Barbie wear would not please Wanda much more. The second outfit is her original one, Dollz4Moi. In spite of its glaring outdatedness ;-D it does suit her.) The outfit didn't seem to match Wanda. So we set it aside.
Vanessa, that was a good catch ... Wanda - unlike some of my other child/teen years' dolls - is "stuck" in the 1970s. And there are unscrupulous telephone companies who are willing to dupe her into paying extra. Sigh.
On the other hand, Wanda is as happy as she looks. Yes, she is a little loud and a lot "country" (read, "Southern"), lol.
Hi Brini! I love her spirit, too. That's why I decided to give her the more poseable body.
And thanks, Frannie, for the book suggestion. Problem? Getting focused on a subject ;-D I'd love to write about doll packaging, doll arrangements in packaging, booklets and related sales materials, variety of body types, meaning, thrills of collecting, and so on. Where to start?
Oh and coolest book idea of all? A book on collectors and their dolls and action figures. With lots of color photos ... wouldn't that be dreamy?
No doubt Wanda is loving you for giving her a new articulated body. This is such a good thing. ;)
Hello from Spain: I like her new body. She is wearing a beautiful clothes. Keep in touch.
She's such a funny one! :-)
Wanda enjoyed hearing that you thought she is funny. She sends airkisses and a high five your way ;-D
Hi Robin, Marta, and Barbiecafe! Thanks for stopping by. Yes, Wanda is loving the new body. She's working her disco moves.
Wanda looks right happy with her new body! She looks like she fixin' to have some great adventures too! You go! Wanda!
