Integrity Alysas - Two of Her Four Faces

Integrity playline dolls have appeared in recent posts by Frannie of Thrift Store Dolls and by MSJ of MSJ's Doll Pitt. Since this is Hispanic Heritage Month, I simply must share some of my other Hispanic dolls. Let's start with Alysa, an Integrity Toys, fashion doll from the late 1990s and early 2000s.

A fan from the Integrity Toys Janay & Friends Yahoo Group wrote that there were 4 Alysa head sculpts:

First face sculpt (BIG)
Second face sculpt (improved but still biggish)
2.5 face sculpt (slimmer than the second sculpt; probably the one I have)
Third face sculpt ("pinched" look in my opinion; I have MANY of these, LOL)

Below is a comparison photo of the 2.5 and the 3rd Alysa face sculpts.

I just love, love, LOVE the second or 2.5 head sculpt. But I love the titan curls on the third head sculpt doll, too. The dolls shown are Heat Wave Alysa from 2001 and Studio It Alysa from 2005.

Below, are more photos from that lovely, volatile-looking Alysa (2nd or 2.5 face sculpt?): Urban Reflections (far left), purple-haired Color Rave, and Heat Wave.

Don't forget that Therese is working on a Janay database.

I have a Jason Wu Alysa, one of his early designs for Integrity. I believe her face is different from the dolls in your blog.

Hi DBG! Your Alysa could have the first face (if her head is really big) shown here and possibly here. Note: in the second photo, Alysa is the closed mouth doll with silvery hair.

Yes, iLham, she does look fierce, Ms. Urban Reflections Alysa. I wouldn't want to be in a fight with her. Shudder, LOL.

My doll is Alysa Simply Chic (from 2000). She may in fact have the same sculpt as one of the dolls in your post. I'm too lazy to photograph my doll, so here's a link to one. The doll at the link is rather pale looking. Alysa's complexion is actually a deeper, caramel tone.

Thanks for the comparisons of the different sculpts. I didn't realize that Alysa went through so many transformations. Did Integrity create the Alysa doll or did they license the rights to reproduce the doll?

Hi DBG! Thanks for the link to your Alysa. She looks like the second head sculpt; her head is a little big but not as gigantic as the first doll. The first doll had a bulbous shaped head, too. Like the 1960s and early 1970s Sindys and the Tammy dolls (except Grown Up Tammy).

Hi Kim! Oh, yes, Alysa and the other playline dolls in the Janay series (later came to be called "Janay and friends"), went through at least two head changes. Jade had 2; Janay about 3; Alysa about 4.

Unlike Candi, Alysa and Janay were Integrity originals. Not licensed out to Integrity.

I thought Simply Chic might be similar to one of the dolls in the first image.

Speaking of Tammy, after I mentioned her recently in a comment on one of my blogs, I retrieved my doll and noticed her huge forehead. She's one of the two that I dyed brown years ago. I've touched up her color and plan to include her in a blog soon.

Oh, I liked the Grown Up Tammy - smaller head.

Would you say that the WonderWoman doll in that Ideal series was AA? Her complexion was darker. Like Eartha Kitt ....

Hi folks, i'm a real fan of the 3rd head Alysa with the frizzy auburn hair! Does anyone know where I could find one all these years later?! I live in the UK and we don't have this range here!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Kind regards

Hi Kooch! I haven't seen that doll recently, but if you leave a contact email address or website, someone may give you an answer. Or if you send an email address you use for doll purposes, I'll add a post with that query. Good luck.

Hi D7ana! Thanks for your reply! If you could post my query along with the email address drkooch@gmail.com that would be awesome! (also the doll I've seen is wearing a pink top with denim capris pants and a denim hat)

Thanks a million! :)
