First Asian Monster High Doll ... Introducing Jinafire Long!

Okay ethnic doll enthusiasts, Mattel's Monster High dolls has added another ethnic doll to the crew: Jinafire Long. Jinafire hails from a line of Chinese dragons. She has a metallic gold complexion and greenish eyes ... and a tail! She is the first MH ghoul to have a tail. And a nice price of $74.50 on (No, I don't know if that is the price for her everywhere - wait, someplace called "Mohr Toys and Collectibles" has her for $49.99.) Is it just me or do MH prices seem high?

Additional photos can be found here.

Pssst ... Get Your Mixis Doll for $19.95+ (Postage Not Included)

No, that is not a typo. Yes, you can get any one of the Mixis dolls for only $19.95 - postage NOT included. The ad states that that is 70% off the regular cost. If you can get any of the First Edition dolls, that means you get very cool boots or leather-like loafers or suede boots. You can see photos of the Mixis dolls here under this link.

The only "catch" is that you have to like the Mixis dolls on Facebook first. Small price for a great deal if you are already on Facebook.

Seen the New Dr. Who Playscale Figures?

Creative professionals, Mark Andrews and Tony Leetham, have united to form a new British toy manufacture Big Chief Studios. BIG Chief Studios Ltd. is opening with a line of new Doctor Who figures starting with a 1:6 scale 11th Doctor Who. If Matt Smith is not your favorite Doctor, you might find the accessory packs interesting. Would you like a 1:6 scale Stetson hat or any of the other outfits and accessories worn by him? Then check back to the Big Chief Studios website for when those accessories are available. You can read about their process for capturing Matt Smith's look.

What will this Doctor Who cost? Only £134.99 (tax or shipping costs not included). That translates to $175.10 USD. at today's rate. If the likeness is as good as the photos, then this might be do-able for a fervid fan. (I am curious if they will have a nude doll options at a reduced price.)

For those curious about the Doctor's companion, here is a link to the pre-order for Amy Pond who will cost £149.99.

So .... has anyone succumbed yet? I'd love to see your photos ... big hint.

Sorry ... This is Just W-R-O-N-G ... Bratzillaz' Pet

I like it's name. I grant that the concept is "cute."

I have a cat so this strikes me as soooo wrong.

Where does it "eliminate?" And where is it's tail? Wrong, I say. Wrong, wrong, wrong.

Two More Mattel Dolls ... Seen at Kmart

First, a "new" Mattel Ryan. Hey, is it just me or do they have different face molds? Neat.

And a new Skipper-Chelsea set. I like the concept and the face, but I still want the Walmart Disney Skipper. And does this new Skipper wear ugly clothes? (I think - yes!)

I am pulling together a page with all of the entries. I apologize to the participants for not mentioning this sooner: I have been using public computers so my online time is limited.

So the Photo Contest page is coming. Thanks to everyone for your patience with the delay. There will be a poll for readers to choose their choice.

Which 1 Direction Harry Do You Prefer?

Have you got your red box 1 Direction fashion dolls? You might want to make sure that you do, because new sets are coming. One set is called "The Video Collection". These same faces appear in a possibly "rare" "Singing Collection" set. I saw one of the Video dolls the other day in the Center City Kmart. Okay, the first Harry doll is not pretty, but OMG, is the second one fugly? Sorry. I don't think that the new Harry doll face is an improvement ... well, I will let the photo show what I mean.

I confess to being biased in favor of attractive dolls. Usually. Note, I did not type "pretty" or "beautiful," but "attractive." That covers a range that translates to something that I find appealing. I like the hair of the doll ... something about the plastic curls amuses me. And I like his beady eyes. And the outfit. But this new Harry doll - while having bigger eyes than the first doll - looks less like the young singer than the first version. This one reminds me of the actress Hilary Swank ... in drag. Or maybe her younger brother ....

Still, I might get the second doll for the outfit. I prefer the first outfit, but the second one would be a nice young man's shirt and pants. See the photo below of the two dressed Harrys.

In case you need to see the difference of the new box for the Video Collection, the new box is white instead of the bright red of the first collection. If only he wore the same outfit as the one worn by the singer on the box. (Sigh. Now that navy jacket would have been a great asset to my male doll wardrobe. Shrug. Alas. Not to be.)

What do you think of the two Harrys? Do you have a preference? Or do both set you heart tingling? (Note: neither makes any part of me tingle ... I'd just like to have additional young males for my playscale high school. The real singers are too young, too "callow" for me, lol.)

Have You Seen the New Sister Act?

Walmart has a new exclusive Barbie giftset with the four sisters: Barbie, Skipper, Stacey, and Chelsea. The dolls look like previously sold dolls.
