Packing the Motorcycles and Bikes - A Moving Post

Packing? Have awkward shaped items like cars or motorcycles to carry? I do. Here's how I solved that problem.

Ta da! That is a denim clothes hamper you see. It opens at the top so you can fill it with laundry. But as you can imagine, there is no laundry in mine. (Human laundry not being a PhillyCollector subject.) Noooo ... I have doll goodies inside.

Initially, I had two playscale cars and a slightly smaller-than-playscale golf cart along with two playscale, unadorned Christmas trees inside. I did not like the idea of the cars in such a loosely structured container so I removed them. I have other plans for them.

Oh! Yes, that's how opened inside of the denim hamper looks.

Hello! The inside of the denim hamper, empty.

Is it just me or does that hamper base look vulnerable? It wants something soft and comfy. Something padded. Down goes a spare pillow. Nothing fancy. Something to keep the first item in protected - the Mattel Barbie Harley Davidson motorcycle.

Next, I wind a cloth under bed storage bag around those two bikes. Next in the bike line up is my Kawasaki motorcycle. I am placing a padded chair seat in next. There remains room for my Mattel Barbie bicycles and the Dinah-mite bike. I'll pad them and zip closed this bag.

That's how I have used a hamper bin to pack playscale motorcycles. Hope these photos have stimulated other ideas for your packing needs.

Sure would take less space than mine are now!

Hi jSarie and The Grandmommy! Thanks for your comments; yes, the bikes are more compact now. But that's a temporary arrangement ;-)

This is a great idea! Furthermore I love your bikes! I can see one of the guys on the Harley with the Monument Valley in the background.....I have to have one of those!!!

The laundry bag was a good idea!

Hi Billa's dolls and fashions and Georgia Girl!

@Billa's dolls and fashions - your guys would look GREAT against any motorcycle. Best wishes that you get one or more and soon ;-)

Oh and here's another photo of that bike. I'll have to take more.

@Georgia Girl - thanks! Glad you think so ;-)

That is a good idea! I'm keeping mine in a copy paper box but they are getting full.

My Harley is way atop the closet, lol. My other bikes are in a box wrapped in bubble wrap so the are well protected?, ok I check on them at least twice a month due to so much shifting around in Dotsville.

I like this post and your previous. I'm learning stuff for if I ever get outside with my dolls and take pictures. I'm not particularly fond of the outdoors anymore, so that mayyyy not happen.

Also, my girls are insisting they need a Harley-Davidson Ken.

Hi Muff, Brini, and Barb the Evil Genius!

@Muff - a copy paper box is also a good idea. Ummm ... I think I hear some rumbling though ... sounds like your cycles want out to roar ;-)

@Brini - the Barbie Harley is a beautiful bike; it shines. Oh are you planning a fantastic Dotsville outdoor scene? Shameful hinter that I am ;-)

@Barb - I'm glad you enjoyed these posts. I love the tips folks have generously provided.

Oh, your gals are right. My H-D Kens are so popular ;-)

A great way to transport your transport safely. But I bet the one you want first is always at the bottom - it always seems to be no matter how you pack things.

Hi Carrickters! LOL, yes, the one I want first will probably be at the bottom ;-P

Such is life ;-)
