Disney Snow White Rebodied Shows Marx Sindy Wardrobe

A few months ago, I got this Disney Snow White in a trade with Ms. Leo. The Philly Fashion Doll Club members were making over a Disney Snow White doll. I had not found "the right" body then. Mattel Flavas P Bo's complexion almost matched, but the funky vibe did not suit this doll's face. The Mattel Frank Sinatra Barbie body seemed too thin. Mattel High School Musical bodies were too small. Mattel My Scene My Vespa Chelsea body had too long a neck. My more substantial action figure bodies were all used with heads I wanted for those bodies. Not a single spare body. So I set Snow aside to be rebodied in the future.

Then I came across a query in the comments of The Toy Box Philosopher. What about a Liv body for a Disney doll?

Snow: Behold! The Marx Sindy Wardrobe #1232 from 1978.

D7ana: Snow, can you get in the picture with the wardrobe? Thanks.

 Snow: Sure. Here I go.

Snow: Howdy, folks! I'm Snow White.

Snow: Okay, let us open this wardrobe.

Snow: Aaaiieee! Scared myself.

Snow: The wardrobe interior. Yes, it has some yellow age spots.

Snow: Shelf space for hats or bags.

Snow: Some shoes can fit here.

Snow: "Snow-in-a-closet?" Ha ha. No. Three drawers.

Snow: Well, I'm done here.

Marx Sindy Wardrobe back
Snow: Oh and the back is plastic like the rest of the wardrobe.

D7ana:  Thanks, Snow. You did a good job.

I think the Spin Master Liv body works well with this Disney face. I had ruled it out before because I thought the Liv body was too jeune fille. It has enough weight to balance the larger Disney head. What do you think?

I think Snow looks great on the LIV body. And I really like that wardrobe! I giggled at her scaring herself. :)

Snow looks very spunky on her new body. I have that Sindy wardrobe and enjoy all the details the designers put into it.

Snow looks good! The body does seem to fit her head.

I think she looks great! And if the yellowing worries you a bit, just use primer spray paint with rub n buff classic gold to outline it. Or change the color totally. I had a Suziegoose one that the interior was great but the exterior was yellowed and I just put pure white on it.

She looks great. Nice wardrobe.

Snow looks good. Maybe like a teen, but then that's what the LIV dolls were. Your wardrobe is in very nice shape.

Hi RoxanneRoxanne, Limbe Dolls, Smaller Places, Lisa Nealt, Male Doll World, and Barb the Evil Genius! Thanks for your comments.

I am pleased with Snow on this body and wearing this outfit. I like the new "Spunky Snow" - thanks for that description, Limbe Dolls.

Thanks for the paint tip, Lisa. I don't mind the yellowing :-)

WOW! She looks great on this body! I have mine of a fashionista body but I see that this would work as well! Great Wardrobe too!

I think the body is great for Snow, a good choice. You made a lovely doll! The wardrobe is very cute, I had this furniture too as a child, maybe it was a bit different because it was European, but the model was the same. Very cute!

Hi Ms. Leo and Night Owl!

@Ms. Leo - So glad you suggested we makeover this doll. She is a joy to have.

I should identify the clothes. I will update the post with that information.

@Night Owl - glad you like this pairing. I think most of the Sindy furnishings were the same. Europe carried the Sindy line for a longer time so there's more variation of color and more items. (I don't think the U.S.A. got the drawing table. Probably lots of other items. Then again, I think there was a kitchen piece that we got that was not available overseas.)

Snow looks great on that body and she's an excellent display model. Vanna White couldn't have done it better.

Hi Muff! Snow dipped a curtsey; she's so happy to have received so many compliments. Thanks for boosting her spirits!

While I love the gorgeous fashion type dolls, what I like about Snow is that she looks like the girl next door. That makes dolly world more realistic sometimes. Great rebody. Now she add a lot of nice outfits in her pretty wardrobe!

She looks fantastic on the LIV body!

Hi The grandmommy! I prefer casual, everyday characters, too. I get more "play" from them.

The wardrobe does not belong to Snow. She's a dear to model it, but most furnishings and accessories belong to the group ;-)

Hi Nella! We think so, too, Snow and I ;-)

A new doll enthusiast's site? You know I have to share the link. Welcome to dolly blogging. I'll be following you!

Hi D7ana, the new body fits her beautifully! and the wardrobe is amazing, such detail!

Snow looks great! She's pretty young looking, so a Liv body might actually suit her better than, say, a Fashionista. And the wardrobe is great! If only mattel made things like that today...

Hi Billa's Dolls and Fashions and Anderson's All-Purpose!

@Billa's Dolls and Fashions - we're both pleased with the re-body results.

I recommend the wardrobe - heck, most Marx/Pedigree Sindy accessories ;-)

@Anderson's All-Purpose - I LOVE the Liv body for her. The Fashionista body would have seemed too thin.

That wardrobe is one of my favorite pieces. Nope, I don't see Mattel making stuff like that today.
