Integrity 2010 Lines Unveiled - Link

Love Staying Power Darius Reid - he has a warm brown complexion, attractive dark suit, and an antique looking leather bag that seems to have been shrunk to 1:6 scale. Fire Within Jordan looks great, too. Real leather dress gloves. Private Goddess Natalia Fatale is another stunner, only I have the 2008 Natalia so - pre-purchase downsizing in place ;-D - I won't try for her.
I.T.B.E. Luscious and Romantic look gorgeous as well. Dynamite Girls Sooki and Reese are on my wish list. Sooki has curly blonde hair while Reese seems to have a new face mold.
Sigh. Possible new Mixis, new Integrity, and as always, new Mattel dolls.

Boogie Beach Dynamite Girls Courtesy of ShugaShug
ShugaShug writes about a new doll series, Boogie Beach Dynamite Girls. She has gorgeous close-up photos (prototypes?) of these dolls who are limited to 300 each. Sigh.

Angelic Dreamz Announces New Dynamite Girls
Late June or early July, Angelic Dreamz will have two new Dynamite Girls dolls - Feeling Fierce Jett and Canadian Exclusive Feeling Fierce Dani:

I like this more realistic looking Jett with her silver "leather" jacket and over-sized sunglasses. Okay, I love the silver jacket. It's a short belted trench. The Dani doll reminds me of the Caucasian Valentine TJ doll. Dani wears a black moc-croc jacket, hot pink tiered tulip skirt, and black fishnet stockings. She leads her small black poodle on a gold chain leash. Sigh.
I haven't bought my earlier 2009 Integrity Wish List dolls and here they add more dolls. Love you too, Integrity.

RnD Susie Joins the Integrity Dynamite Girls

Susie by R & D Dolls will join the Integrity Toys' Dynamite Girls Electro Pop Collection later this year. I assume that this is a one-time collaboration since Susie will be exclusive to R & D Collectibles. Other information gleaned from the Yahoo Group posts is that this Susie will have the Dynamite Girls' body and rooted eyelashes.
Ah ... so many dolls, so little space, so few my funds!
Time to purge and sell.

Mid-to-late February is an exciting time to be a collector. I received a message and a photograph of the new Integrity Dynamite Girls for 2009 from Maddie's Dolls.

Integrity Dynamite Girl Heartbreaker TJ Arrives
Integrity Toys' Dynamite Girl Heartbreaker TJ arrived today. She's a lovely, elegant-looking doll as those familiar with these dolls would expect. TJ wears a red blouse and pink with white lace overlay hot pants. She has a small white teddy bear with her -- possibly the gift of one of her suitors?
Here's a photo of the back of her box:
Somewhere out in the doll collecting communities, there are people shaking their heads. Oh, she's not a real black doll. No, she's just a chocolate-dipped white doll. I recognize that there are Black women with keen features. There are Black women with fuller features. There is room enough in my crowded doll and action figure collection for both.
Back in the '60s and the 70's when some people found chocolate-dipped dolls offensive, I wondered how people who looked like those dolls felt. Unauthentic? Not Black enough? That didn't seem fair. People's looks -- barring surgery -- stem from a chance arrangement of their parents' genes. Sure, I could understand wanting Black dolls with fuller features and coarser hair, but the keener featured dolls were or could be representative, too.
Today, my take is this: a toy company wants to reach more audiences WITHOUT the added expense of creating a new head mold. No evil plan. Just economics.
