Liberating 2005 Barbie Fashion Fever United Colors of Benetton New York

A doll blogger known as "Lady Bast" produced a series of doll posts she called "Doll Liberations." In these doll posts, she opens up NRFB dolls, displays the dolls and the doll accessories, and rates both. This post follows that format to show United Colors Of Benetton Fashion Fever New York (Christie).

Here is Fashion Fever Benetton New York Christie mint in her original clear tube with the special square Benetton booklet to the side of her tube.

The next two photos show Fashion Fever Benetton New York Christie's hideous fashion. Who would make a doll with her warm coloring wear such a mismatched fashion? Sigh.

You got a real gem with that Fashion Fever Christie. I kind of like her first outfit on her, but she looks great redressed, too.

She is so pretty in both outfits.

Hi RagingMoon1987, Barb the Evil Genius, and aprilperlowski! Thanks for viewing and for commenting!

@RagingMoon1987 - No, you can't beat the FF line, lol. They were one of my favorite Mattel lines.

@Barb the Evil Genius - Yes, I LOVE her face screening and coloring. She's one of my favorites ;-)

@aprilperlowski - I agree with you: she's a pretty doll.

Hi, Georgia Girl! I hope you find one. (Pause to cross my fingers for you.) She has lovely face paint, a warm complexion, and lovely textured hair. Lucky me, indeed ;-)

I miss Lady Bast's Doll Liberations too. The concept was definitely due for a relaunch. You have my full support.
Signed, Treesa

What a great find! I wish they still made this line or gave the Fashionistas the same quality of clothing at least! Those were the good ole' days!

Hi Treesa, Phyllis, and YéYé Dolls! Thanks for your comments.

@Treesa - Thanks. Glad to meet someone else familiar with that doll site. Definitely a cool concept and philosophy ;-)

@Phyllis - Oh, I got these dolls when they were out. Just had them boxed and decided I'd like to play with them. I will also be doing a post about that lovely Barbie Look doll that I won from your site. It's so hard to remove her from her box: she's just that lovely. And those were some of the best Barbie days. Sigh.

@YéYé Dolls - My camera battery died. But I'm setting up for the next round of deboxings ;-) Thanks for the encouragement!

Hello Diana
I loved the dolls in this collection, unfortunately I didn't have the opportunity to purchase any. This doll is beautiful.

Hi! I write and teach about Barbie (and I'm near Philadelphia). I am wondering a lot about how the Teresa dolls are described on their packaging. Most of my dolls are back in Puerto Rico (where I grew up), so I can't see the boxes. Would I be able to email you with some questions (and to talk about Barbie)?
Thank you!

Hi, Linda, Leticia, and Emily Rose! Thanks for visiting and for commenting. I apologize for not getting back to you sooner.

@Linda - Aw, thanks again. I'm doing fine, and I've got some blog posts I'm working on. I've updated your blog address in my list so I'll be current with your posts. Hug back. Let's continue to stay safe!

@Leticia - I almost missed getting any of the Fashion Fever Benetton dolls - because I never saw them in stores - but a fellow doll enthusiast who also had a doll store was selling them online so I bought my 3 from him. Whew. I'm glad that you liked seeing this doll. I hope you are able to find them. I wish you the best luck for finding them. (Oh, and I've updated your blog address in my Blog List.)

@Emily Rose - you write and teach about Barbie - cool! Near Philly? Neat! I'll check through the Teresas that I still have - Butterfly Art, I've seen recently - and photograph the boxes. Sure you're welcome to email me to talk Barbie - my email address is d7ana @ yahoo.com. (Minus the empty spaces, of course.) Thanks for visiting!

This answers my question! Great doll! I would love to see some of your other Fashion Fever dolls. BTW, where finally able to have all of you doll collection together? It is kinda hard to know what you have if you don't have them all together.

Hi, Ms. Leo! Great to see you. Glad you enjoy seeing this doll; I will be opening other Fashion Fever dolls so please stop by to see them.

I lost some dolls at the storage unit and - unfortunately - more dolls in my move back to Philly. My computer died so some of the files from there aren't available anymore. I need to dedicate some time to updating my collection records though. But what I have now is in two rooms so yes, my DAFs are united under one roof. Whew.
