Jakks Pacific G.I.R.L. Force Dolls Go Clothes Hunting

I thought: I have a LOT of doll clothes. Then I looked for fashions for the Jakks Pacific G.I.R.L. Force dolls. Fit problems galore arose. First, their hands are almost three times bigger than most Barbie hands. Their arms are a little rounder, too. Their waists, hips, and buttocks - bigger than Barbie - even the Belly Button Barbie bodies. Their legs are thicker. But their feet are slightly smaller and more graceful than the BigFoot Barbies. However fitting these dolls is made even more difficult by the rubbery material of their torso, hips, and legs.

So most fashions barely fit. And the ones that did fit like action figure tailored shirts or Maxie's friend Ashley's sweatshirt did not flatter.

The girls were so disappointed with their findings that they insisted on being photographed in their original fashions. Well, Creanna and Bianca did. Here they go.

There is a dedicated eBay source for the Jakks Pacific G.I.R.L. Force dolls. That I like their faces and their attitudes makes me tolerate their posing limitations. I do intend to re-body at least the Lucy Liu doll. Someday.

I was watching Flashdance today and totally thought of your dolls butt!

I really like the dress the redhead is wearing. That would be my style if I was the fashionable lady sort.

The gals in their dresses do rather have an expression of "Who sent us to this damn garden party? We could be playing roller derby! We could be building an impregnable fortress with rockets! No, I don't want a crumpet."

Hi Muff and Smaller Places!

@Muff - I finally saw Flashdance earlier this year.

I need to identify the dolls and their outfits. The redhead second from the right in the 4 doll photos is Josie from Josie and the Pussycats. She is wearing Jakks Pacific Damita's dress.

@Smaller Places - LOL. Too true. They are not the tea and crumpets kind of girls ;-)

Those are really pretty dolls. And the clothes are quite nice, as well!!!

Those dolls were nice. I don't know why they stop making them. I have only one of them. Lovely dresses by the way!

Hi April_n_Paris! I agree! Thanks for sharing ;-)

Hi Georgia Girl! I don't think the G.I.R.L. Force dolls sold well. Some of mine, I found at K B Toys and with marked down prices. My guess why not is the difficulty finding clothes for them. Most Barbie clothes won't fit. Barbie sets the standard for doll clothes so ... bye bye G.I.R.L. Force.

Is your G.I.R.L. Force doll in your stories?

Thanks for the compliment to the dresses. The polka dot and the tiny floral print are Mattel Barbie (Jaz's dress just fits; Lola's polka dot only snaps at the top. The back bottom does not close.) The big floral is Jakks Pacific Damita's dress; it just closes in the back, but her hips/butt/legs cause the dress to ride higher than it should. The bust connection is off, too. I like these dresses, but they're probably a little dainty for these dolls. Shrug.

Hi D7ana, it would be interesting sewing clothes for these girls, it looks like they have more realistic anatomical proportions, at least judging from the pictures of the cocktail dresses.....
they have wonderful facesculpts!

Hi Billa's Dolls and Fashions! These dolls do look well in cocktail dresses. Girl-next-door styles, though, do not suit them. I see now.

And I agree that they have wonderful face sculpts, too ;-)

I so hope the luck up and find some outfits. I think they look nice in the dresses but there personality reflect they are ladies on the move, very active, leaders.

LOL This is a funny post.

You write about dolls I never heard of, I like it :-)

Hi Brini and Chasing Joy! Thanks for your comments ;-)

@Brini - I'll have to look harder for other outfits and/or possibly hand make them some sassy, dramatic fashions better suited to their energetic look.

@Chasing Joy - glad you found the post funny. Smiles and laughter are good in my book.

While I love the Barbie gang, I also love variety. So I'm happy to share other dolls ;-)

I only kept my Lucy Lieu and Josie and the pussy cat Valerie. Both I rebodied. It just makes finding clothes easier.

Hi Ms. Leo! Yes, rebodying them would make it easier to find clothes for them. But I like having variety of body types so my dolls will have fewer clothes options ;-)

Did you hear a Barbie giggle?
