Mixis Dolls and Outfits in Another Blog! Great Photos!

As I mentioned in another post, I am always seeking new links about 1:6 scale dolls and action figures. So I skimmed an article by Lee Odden called 6 Social Search Engines to Start 2009. Mr. Odden mentioned a social search engine that I had NOT used before, WhosTalkin?. Well, I clicked on the link and voila! in addition to my PhillyCollector blog, I netted another blog with an article on the Mixis dolls.

The article, Mixis Collectible Dolls Are Worldly In Their Fashion And Looks by Kris Abel in his blog, Tech Life: 21st Century Gadgets and Toys, provides information about the Mixis dolls AND lovely photos of the dolls and their sold separate outfits. Now I MUST get the Chinese and the Central American outfits after seeing photos of the outfits in their baggies and on some of the dolls.

Fabulous February - Toy Fair

Date: February 15–18, 2009

Place: The Jacob Javits Center in New York City

Event: T O Y F A I R 2009!

Okay, needless to say as a mere doll and action figure enthusiast, I will NOT be attending Toy Fair. Sigh. Perhaps someday, one day, I will be able to attend the largest doll show with innumerable toy manufacturers, toy buyers, and the toy press ... one day, I will attend as a member of the press. In the meantime, I will scour every web source and paper source I can BEFORE, DURING, and AFTER. As a collector, it is my business to learn as much as I can so that I can search store shelves or online websites. Can't miss anything exciting.

So one theme for February will be Toy Fair news.

Olga Tanon Doll - Last Doll Received in January 2009

Olga Tanon is a Puerto Rican singer. In 2000, Haschel Toys created this doll of her. I first saw the Olga Tanon doll on another collector's website, Madeboxer, and the link is http://home-and-garden.webshots.com/photo/1330796646031176672hAZfTV

I like how the doll resembles the singer.
