My Versatile Blogger Award - Thanks, Debbie!

Debbie of Black Doll Collector bestowed one of The Versatile Bloggers Awards on me because she has found my blog informative and comprehensive for playscale dolls. Aw shucks. But yes, yes, yes! I do accept the Award. Thanks for the honor.

According to the rules of this award, I am supposed  to share 7 things about myself. (Yeah, like you don't hear enough of Dana, D7ana, Dana - LOL) Next steps:

1. Thank and link back to the person who gave you the award. (See blog title above and blog links below)
2. Share 7 things about yourself. (See below)
3. Pass the award along to 15 other bloggers who you recently discovered and think are fabulous. (Below)
4. Contact the bloggers you chose and let them know about the award. Now to start notifying the bloggers. Hmmm ... that action will take some time, LOL.

Dana's 7 Things:

1. Antique dolls feel creepy to me.
2. I could research play scale dolls and action figures all day. Surprised?
3. Writing helps me clarify thoughts and feelings.
4. I enjoy watching some cooking shows.
5. Reading cozy mysteries soothes an unsettled mind.
6. It’s fun to get around Philadelphia on public transit: yay, SEPTA.
7. Chocolate is a gift from Heaven. Hmmmmm ....

Thanks. I feel so honored. I think you are the only person who actually 'reads' my blog (well, there isn't much there to read really).

Your responses got me thinking - why do you find antique dolls creepy? I don't have any myself except for a few older barbies, but they aren't really antique yet. I guess a lot of antique dolls are baby dolls and I was never fond of baby dolls even when I was little. I think I got my first Barbie when I was 6 and it has been fashion dolls all the way since then.... Anyway, why do you find the antique ones creepy?

You are one of the few folks that I know who actually likes SEPTA. Even folks who love public transportation in general seem to hate SEPTA for some reason. Do you live near a train or do you mostly use the bus? I like public transportation (in real cities where it can actually take you someplace useful in a reasonable amount of time). Right now I am trapped in Knoxville, so I drive. I hope to live in a city again someday.

You are welcome, DBG and AA! The awards are overdue for your wonderful blogs ;-D

Antique dolls have glass eyes and cracked skin - sometimes - and those features I find creepy. I don't like that they've probably passed through many hands either. Absorbed all those other peoples vibes ... eeewww! Not to mention possible bugs and teeny tiny things and mold ....

Sometimes, I admire an individual doll. Not often though.

Make mine modern, LOL!

And back to K aka AA - don't want to put your name out just in case - more people SHOULD view your blog. You have interesting, beautiful photography.

I think I was generous to my readers who have yet to see your work.

Don't leave your camera behind! ;-D

I'm lucky - now - to live where I can take either the regional rail line (train) or a number of buses. I love, love, love the system: the routes and getting to know them and traveling through the city.

Most people think of the drivers/conductors/management, the funk and the litter, or the filthy riders who do obscene things. I try to work around those things. Congratulate myself on knowing which buses to take when the trains mess up. Carry a lemon airfresher at all times. Remind myself that attacking people who litter, especially sunflower seed litterers, cannot be attacked without severe penalties - exercising restraint ;-D. Oh and remind myself that courtesy can be both optional and subjective ....

The fault-finders just need to recall the better aspects of Philly public transit.

Oh, but during strikes, I'm like everybody else. I HATE them, then.
