Two More Flavas: Denim & Diamonds Happy D and Sporty Liam

Second post in one month about Mattel's Flavas dolls. Here are my last two boxed Flavas dolls. The others have been removed from their original boxes.

Close-ups of Flavas Still Boxed

I love this Happy D's coppery hair, her brown eyes, and her tanned complexion. I will re-body her onto a heavier and taller figure when I open up her box. Her original body might go to one of my Rebelde doll heads. (My Street Happy D with the blond braids now lives on a My Scene Barbie poser body. That Happy D is Delilah; this one is Serena.)

I consider the Sporty Liam the Hispanic Liam. Something about his eye screening looks Hispanic to me. So his new name is Luis. (Choice Awards Liam kept his original name; Denim & Diamonds Liam has been renamed Luigi.)

After I sell the deboxed dolls destined to gladden other hearts, I will allow myself to open these boxes. Yes, I am bribing myself to get sales going.

This is my first time seeing both of these dolls. I love them both. They have great accessories, too.

Happy D has a pretty face, but her hair style would limit play value for me. Your Liam does look Hispanic to me as well.

I've never seen these dolls before. They both look pretty cool. I like their clothes and accessories too. :-)

Hi Vanessa and Barb the Evil Genius!

@Vanessa - I'm glad I posted the photos of them, then. The Flavas dolls came with an additional outfit (the one they wore plus one) and they did have some neat accessories. I did not care for the hard plastic pocketbooks and schoolbags, but I liked their footwear and their fashions were of different fabrics. (Not all polyester like today's stuff.)

@Barb - Serena (Happy D w. copper hair) may not keep that hairstyle, lol.

I love all my Liam guys, but they seem to belong to different ethnic groups. Very much like 3 different characters.

Hi Cindi! Now I am doubly glad I posted these dolls. I wasn't sure if they were too often seen. The Flavas have nice fashions.

Is Liam's boombox an actual accessory or just box decoration? Because if that's a real accessory, that's brilliant!

I think I have seen the Happy D, but not sure about Liam. Both are very nice!

I see that you switched back. Did you not like the other format?

These are darned cool! It's too bad that they didn't sell better at the time.

Hi jSarie and Georgia Girl!

@jSarie - Liam's boombox doesn't "work" - there isn't a mini radio in it. Sigh - that would have been a neat accessory. It's better than those dreadful cardboard pieces.

@Georgia Girl - thanks! They are very nice. I switched to a new format because while I liked the open-ness of the second format, it caused problems for mobile users. And I missed having my old buttons and gadgets accessible. What do you think of this format?

Hi Muff! Yeah, I wish the Flavas had sold better, too. Would have been nice to see new characters added and additional accessories.

I wish I had bought more of them. Sigh. Like the Sporty Tika with red-blond hair and brown eyes.
