Pole Dancing Child Dancer by Gizmodo

I need to check this on Snopes.com - report of a pole dancing child doll.

One word: bizarre.

I mean, it's not even an adult doll dancing.

What can I say? It's late, but that's what I thought when I saw the photo. If for some reason - bad economy affecting sanity, so on - parents purchased a pole dancer doll for their child, couldn't they at least have an adult doll dancer? Seems beyond gross and sick to have a child dancer. Eeewwww!

By the way, Snopes had nothing on "pole dancer doll" so I assume this is a genuine item.

My guess is this wasn't made nor conceptualized in the US. (Was it marketed in the US?) Maybe in some culture, pole dancing is a game for children like monkey bars. Who knows?

This doll might be a hoax; here's a follow-up link that states that neither the manufacturer nor the stores where the doll can be bought are known. However, the target market seems to be American children.

I'd first read about this "doll" on the feminist blogosphere... Ya Know—For Kids! - when I first saw it... I thought it was a Kelly doll O_o

From other things I've read, have checked snopes too lol (the do have a topic in their message board Next Up, A Pole-Dancing Doll - I think this is probably a cheap knock off frankenstein type of toy.

Oh, I couldn't imagine a Mattel Kelly doll pole dancing - the outrage stirred would almost be amusing ;-D. Kelly could do a Maypole dance, but disco ball evoking stripper-pole-dancing? I would be surprised to see see one.

Time will show whether the doll is a hoax or not.
