Ken's Jacket of Bright Colors

For Ken fans or Ken foes, check this new outfit available at Target. My Kens AND my Joes AND my Power Team guys all fell down and laughed for about 15 minutes after they saw it. Poor Smarmy Ken. I must remember to be kinder to him when I speak to or about him.

It has to be an intentional act to design such ridiculous fashions for Ken. Certainly the same fashion errors are not made repeatedly by mistake.

Is that a microphone I see? If so,then this must be his performing jacket. Not terrible for a performing jacket.

Hello from Spain: that set of clothes as I have in my whislist for when you sell in Spain. For the few clothes they do to Ken I have to make. The ultimate fashionista Ken I have not. In the past I bought is the boyfriend and he shaves. You can see some of the ones I have in my blog entry on November 3 'ramillete de novias.'' We remain in contact blog blog

With matching shorts, Ken would be ready for the golf course!

Sheesh, what is with Mattel and the continuing WEIRD outfits they insist on putting on Ken?

Hi DBG and MiladyBlue! Yes, I think there is a subversive agent at Mattel. It's got to be intentional. Ken should sue. I mean he's 50 now. Let him have some decent fashions!

Hi Vanessa! That could be a microphone. I suppose it could have been an eyesore plaid - say they mixed some green and orange in the plaid or maybe a bit of mustard yellow - the brown mustard color. Maybe Ken was called to do a Hee Haw or Lawrence Welk telethon? Snaps fingers - yes, the jacket has that polyester plaid from the mid 1970s look.

Aw, that's cute, Dollz4moi that some of your guys love the pink plaid jacket. I commend their bravery. Fashionista Ken is my youngest Ken, but I think that he's been around the older Kens long enough that their ahem conservative taste has rubbed off on him.

Hi Marta! Thanks for informing me about your male dolls posed in a circle. I enjoy seeing your photos.

Ken used to have some awesome clothes...then the 80s hit and it all got very weird very fast and never got better. Although I WOULD like to see a lineup of Kens in all the various Dumb and Dumber colored tuxes.

It's reminiscent of Ken's 1981 ensemble, #1956 Paint the Town Red.
I doubt this link will work, so you might want to try copying and pasting.

P.S. The price is preposterous

Yes, Ken did have GREAT fashions once upon a time, Miss_Lola_77. I wonder now though, if it's just Ken's formal wear or if it's men's formal wear in general? Or maybe it's that the primary target for Barbie and Ken is younger girls?

Hi Skippercollector! Great to see you here. OMG. I cannot believe my eyes. I thought that price read as $169.99. My eyes need to rest, hmmm? I've been up too long.

Or is someone joking?

There is a Dominic jacket that is similar to that one, but it is MUCH cheaper.

Hey, maybe I should sell my stuff on Amazon? At those rates, I could start a new collection, ;-D

I took a closer look at the new pink plaid tuxedo. I am really feeling that jacket. I was sort of seeing a smoking jacket, or a m'aitre d' in a restaurant. I will probably buy this one, if the price is right. Inevitably, someone will show it on flickr, looking really good, and I will be buying it anyway.

Hey Vanessa! Glad that you will know to look for this fashion. Old Joe says to tell you that he's glad it would NEVER fit a guy with his broad shoulders and how he pities the sorry fella who gets stuck wearing "girl plaid." Sigh. He would take that view.

I included some links for Joe to see some real life designer dinner jackets for the elite men. But I didn't leave him out. The last one is especially for him. Mattel may not be too far off with this one. Armani and Dolce and Gabbana both did similar jackets.

I showed Joe the plaid jackets, Vanessa. Thanks for sharing that information with him. He rolled his eyes, but he had a smirk as he strolled away. Sigh.
