October Highlights: Heritage, Halloween, and Sales!

I love autumn. The temperature is cooler, the vibrant orange leaves brighten the ground, and I look forward to some of the most fun holidays of the year: Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas. Yay! A is for apples, B is for baking, C is for chocolate, and D is for dolls all year round. We are right before the holiday sales. Would be nice to get my sale list out and dolls/action figures off.

In the meantime, we have these heritages and celebrations open

Hispanic American Heritage continues until the 15th of this month.

German American (I don't think I have done a German American Heritage post before.) Oktoberfest Barbie pops in to represent the month and German American Heritage.

Italian American (I don't think I have done an Italian American Heritage post before.)

I do not have anything new to add for Filipino American or Polish American Heritage. No new dolls. Please share if you do ;-)

LGBT History. New doll name is Sarina Valentina; she's a Phicen Limited 1/6th scale action doll from their Classic Beauty Entertainment Series. Since her body is "realistic" - nipples, etc. - I would suggest the page is for adult viewers and that it is not safe for work.

I would like to do a review on Aoshima/Skynet's Ladies Mission action figures - time permitting. Here's a close up of the nun from that series:

The swim suit issue will post this month. Here are some Mattel males wearing swimsuits. They're boxed because I will be selling them, but the dolls and action figures for the swim suit post will be out of box.

And of course, I will have one or more Halloween posts.

Well about Polish herritage I can only think about Joanna - the only fashion doll produced in Poland, however now she is really hard to find:)

Phicen dolls are so cool....and the nun doll! OMG....
but you know I'm looking forward for the bathing suit post.
I've tried to find some Halloween gadget for a themed post, but it's impossible to find anything in scale here in Italy....
I have to pland ahead for next year!

Looking forward to your very interesting topics for October! I think my favorite will be the swimsuit "issue"!

Hi Natalia, Billa, and Phyllis!

Thanks for mentioning Johanna, Natalia! I don't think that she is sold in the U.S.

I want to make the swim suit issue special so it is taking a little longer. Billa and Phyllis, I hope it pleases you.

I have no Phicen dolls yet. They are striking.

Billa, I hope you can get Halloween accessories next year. ☺

Interesting lineup of topics...swim suit issue sounds fun ;) I was contemplating a post for Hispanic Heritage Month, but I think I already shared all of my new Hispanic dolls.

German Barbie reminds me of the movie Miss Congeniality 2, Sandra Bullock's costume was very alike for her special act :-). The nun is also great. Looking forward to the swim suit post!

Fall is a wonderful time of year unless you live in a house surrounded by trees. Years of getting up leaves have taken it's toll on me and my grass. I can't believe that Halloween is here again. Seems like only yesterday Morristown had it's Halloween party. Some of the dolls are still dressed in their costumes. These years are going by way too fast. That nun doll is very well done! Looking forward to your information filled October posts.

Hi Jewell, Linda - Darkroom Dolls, April_n_Paris, and Vanessa! Thanks for visiting.

@Jewell - I have no new Polish or Filipino dolls so I will probably not do posts for those heritages this year. Unless I come across something new ... so I can understand why you might skip Hispanic Heritage.

@Linda - LOL, I remember seeing a promo for that movie.

@April_n_Paris - thanks! I'm blushing ;-)

@Vanessa - Oh, yes. I forgot about the leaves mess. That is a hassle. And slippery rail season for the trains ... hmmm ....

Thank you for posting what the barbie looks like that wears that Octoberfest outfit! I have seen that outfit on so many Poppy Parkers and Fashion Royalty ladies but NEVER on a Barbie.

That nun doll looks very interesting. Since I have always wanted to do a church scene she would be a good addition for that.

October comes and goes and I have so many dolls that are Halloween and spooky worthy it is time to pack them up before I even take photos of them. I love Halloween but hardly have time to decorate before it is time to think of Thanksgiving and Christmas! It flies before we can enjoy it. I love the autumn scents and smells-apple and pumpkin pies (and candles) not to mention the yummy stuff that you get to eat during this month. Just found apple pie bagels for hubby at the store...

Hi Lisa! My pleasure. Glad that you can see the outfit on the original doll.

The nun doll is one of my favorites. Glad you - and others - like her, too.

Apple pie bagels... oh my, that sounds so good. Fall food smells are intoxicating. But I say that almost every season, lol.

I've been looking everywhere for her, do you have any idea where I can get the nun doll?

Hi, Anonymous! My source for the nun doll was Nouveau Toys, but they have long since not sold any Ladies Mission dolls. I would suggest eBay or a private collector in an online action figure enthusiast group like "Men with Dolls" or "One-Sixth Warrior Forum." The company that produced the nun doll (action figure really) was Aoshima/Skynet.

Nouveau Toys still sells rounder figured action figures, but the new lines seem more "adult-themed."
