Liberating 2005 Barbie Fashion Fever Wave U Christie

Hello 2020. I am continuing the doll liberation project initiated last October. The next doll to be freed from her box is Fashion Fever Christie from Wave U. Her outfit - at least the top - I don't like almost as much as I disliked the Benetton Christie's. The candy pink color with tepid purple ruched trim sleeves as well as the child-themed princess rendered this top totally unsuitable to a doll with her sophisticated dark lip color and streaked hair. Here she is in her original tube and re-dressed.

I am glad that I didn't sell this Christie.

I'm happy with both of these Christies. They are both "keepers." Any suggestions for future re-dressing ideas? Should I have put the tribal dress on the Benetton Christie?

Yep, except for that top, your Christie is a definite winner. What face mold does she have?

I like what the Benetton Christie is wearing now. The clothes bring out colors in her hair, and vice versa.

Hi and thanks for commenting, Barb the Evil Genius, Linda, and Shasarignis!

@Barb the Evil Genius - the featured Christie has the Asha face mold. Her head is a little smaller than many dolls with this facemold.

I LOVE this boho outfit on Benetton Christie.

@Linda - I agree - the jeans are the best part of that outfit. That dress was part of a Fashion Fever closet.

I'm thinking that boho set is Benetton Christie's, lol. Like let me try to put it on another doll. Mattel produced winners with these two.

@Shasarignis - yes, I remember you! You can send me private messages at D7ana. Please write "PhillyCollector" on the subject line so that I know a doll buddy is contacting me. I'll leave a message on your blog as well. See you soon ;-)

That’s not a ‘child-themed princess’ that’s Barbie in Swan Lake, from the movie! This doll is actually really cool as she’s wearing Barbie merch in-universe ;)

I've answered Shasarignis by e-mail. Thanks!

Anonymous May 31 2023 - thanks for the identification! LOL. I'm terrible about the Barbie movies. How clever that Mattel has her wearing Barbie merch. I've done a 180 degree flip on that blouse. Although I will save it for a younger doll.
