New Black Barbie (and Francie) Dolls! Stephen Burrows Anyone?

Oh, my stars! I have got to become a Barbie fan club member.

The wonderful writers of My Barbie Doll submitted this information: Mattel will be issuing Fuchsia 'N Fur, a Black Silkstone Francie - eeekkkk! - and a Stephen Burrows Pazette Barbie. Wow. Hopping up and down - wow, wow, wow! Deep breath time. Pause. Fan self.

Both dolls are lovely. I love the new hairstyle the Silkstone Francie has - her right side-part hair hangs slightly longer on the left side. The hair looks to be two-toned, black and brown streaked. Her eyes are brown with a darker iris so they are more realistic than the old rust-eyed Francies. The only bummer is the tiny bit of light blue eye shadow. Sigh. Why ... but otherwise, she is gorgeous.

The Stephen Burrows doll was designed by Linda Kyaw and created by the international African American designer. (Hey, that's the text that Mattel has in their description.) I love her face - the strong eyebrows and dark red lips and the direct facing eyes. I've used up my quota of "wow," but that's the word that comes to mind on seeing her. Stunning. (And she reminds me of a fellow blogger, too. I won't say who because she would probably feel embarrassed.)

So check in regularly at My Barbie Doll. Thanks, thanks, thanks. I will be sooo broke, but thanks.

Wow! (now who tells its me lol) Thank you for nominating my blog. I loved the Francie,, too cute! sweet face... I love everything! And the other doll also draws attention. For me, I'm Brazilian, remember of the highlights of the samba school, with their feathers and sequins. The head mold is beautiful too. Thank you once again! Hugs

Thanks for posting the information about these two new wonderful dolls Mattel is offering, D7ana. I was going to post about Francie (after I place my order). Tee-hee-hee: written like a true collector, bound and determined to get her Francie!

The Burrows-inspired, Kyaw-designed doll is quite lovely. I have no immediate plans to buy this one, however.

Sure would like to know the ID of the blogger the Burrows-Kyaw doll reminds you of. I have an inquiring mind.

Samira, thanks so much for letting us know about those beautiful dolls. Your blog has great information.

DBG, I understand the feeling, lol. Sometimes I think, wait until I get the doll, then post about it. Alas, I might not get her so at least I can let my blogging buddies have at her. Just in case they missed her - ha! not likely, hey!?

As for the identity of the blogger I think resembles the S.B. doll, I'll wait to see if one of the bloggers who have seen that person in real life makes the same connection. Think the eyebrows and the eyes of the doll.

Yes, thank you D7ana and Samira for posting, but what does it say about the Bahaina Barbie? will she be available here? I'm obsessed with Brazil and I NEEEED her!! Deep breaths.

Hi and you're both welcome, Carrickters and Danielle! I *know* about these dolls extending our *want* lists. Sigh. The DotW Brazil Barbie is on back-order now - understandable because she's another stunner. I had thought that she was to be a limited edition doll - either to Brazil or to a specific site, but she's listed among the 2012 dolls without any limitations that I could see.

Hi and thanks for stopping by, Nuwandalice! The eyeshadow is okay; it could have been worse. Shrug. But I LOVE the new hairdo. How about that new style?

Hi Marta! Thanks for stopping by! Yes, both of the dolls are very nice. I am partial to the Francie because I love that teenaged doll's mod styling.

These are too rich for my blood but I do love the look of Francie. She reminds me of actressess from the 70's. It's like she could have had a recurring role on the Julia Show with Diahann Carroll.

Hi Muff. Yes, they are pricey, these two new Mattel dolls. I'm hoping that with the bad economy, I might get lucky. Maybe they won't sell out tomorrow. They might even go on sale. I might get a high paying job and swoop in and nab them.

This will happen when pigs fly and hawks and squirrels cuddle ... sigh. Ah never never ...
