Additional Footwear for Jakks Pacific G.I.R.L. Force Ladies

Remember the Jakks Pacific G.I.R.L. Force dolls from 2000?

I do. I had to go to the suburbs to get my first two - Bianca and Creanna - from a Target there. (This is before the South Philly Target existed.)

Anyway, I received a query asking which other shoes the Jakks Pacific G.I.R.L. Force dolls can wear. My initial answer was any of the shoes Mego produced for their over 12" celebrity dolls: Farrah Fawcett, Diana Ross, etc. I see another collector offer that same advice, but now we have new dolls and new shoe sources. Yay!

1.) Mattel's Barbie ... the "big foot" Riding Club Cali Girl dolls. Yes, Mattel produced some plastic cowboy boots for their big foot dolls. Jakks Josie wears the red-black pair made for Lea. There were a white pair of cowboy boots for Barbie and probably a pair for Summer. (I don't recall seeing the color of Summer's boots. And, no, there was no Christie or Nikki for this series. Then again, I don't see me riding a horse. Ever. lol)

2.) Mattel's Flavas ... the black boots worn by Jakks' Valerie are boots made for either Happy D or Kiyoni Brown (possibly both?) Both pairs of Mattel boots are slit down the back to allow easy removal of the doll's feet. Whew. Thank you for that, Mattel!

3.) YNU Group's Mixis open-toed sandals. Jaz shows off these stylish black sandals. Note: the closed toe loafers belonging to YNU Group's Opal do NOT fit the Jakks dolls. And I would not even think of trying the Mixis zippered boots. The Jakks Pacific dolls have rounder legs than the Mixis dolls.

Say, has anyone ever seen a Jakks Pacific Felicia doll? Glamerboy, wonderful doll researcher and creator of the Jakks page cited above, writes that she was NOT produced. There was another Black doll in the G.I.R.L. Force line who was not produced either. Pity that. Sigh. She looked pretty and different.

Photos of other Jakks dolls appear at Lady Bast's site, in my Flick account, and in my Webshots folder. Know of any additional Jakks Pacific doll websites or blog entries? Please share with me or Jen of Doll Links fame. Thanks in advance.

I think I know, in a roundabout way, two more shoe kinds that might just fit them. I'm not 100% certain about this but here goes.. 12" Joe Tai dolls have just about the same foot (I have both dolls so I'm sure about that), and I -heard- that these can wear shoes made for Tonner's Tiny Kitty (10"). I've been intending to buy some to try it forever. For what it's worth. :)

Glad to add to the information and don't feel shy to join, My Realitty!

Thanks, Alrunia, for that information. I'm holding off updating the list until the end of the week so that I update once and give everyone credit for our updated list.

Guess I have to get some Joe Tai shoes. Is Tonner's Tiny Kitty stuff expensive?

Also in the Lea "Cali Girl" Riding Club box there is an extra pair of brown/black sandals that would probably fit. (My eyes are getting bad so I really can't tell if the sandals are brown or black)

Hi Frannie and thanks for that reminder. I forget whether those slightly platformed sandals were brown or black, too. I have them somewhere among my stuff.

I'm not familiar with these dolls, but I really like them. Look at those realistic legs. Love it!

Thanks, Vanessa.

I LOVE the Jakks Pacific G.I.R.L. Force dolls. I admire their well toned bodies - they seem "stronger" than most fashion dolls. Their faces are interesting. I do wish they had better articulation, that their hands were smaller, and that they had MADE the Black dolls, but I am glad to have the ones that I have. I wish you luck in finding them ;-D.

Oh, I'm not looking to buy any of them. I am perfecting a new skill. It is called "admiring dolls without the need to buy them". I am getting really good at it.

I agree the body sculpt is just lovely on those dolls. The details on their chest, breasts and stomach are great. They even have ribs and a lovely collar bone :D Anyway, I remembered one more kind of shoes that definitely fit: shoes from MGA's America's Next Top Model dolls. The arch is slightly wrong, but since the feet are soft rubber they look just fine.

Thanks, Alrunia! I have some shoes - sandals from three of those ANTM dolls. Will try them out ;-)

LOL @ Vanessa's comment.

When you've mastered that skill, please give lessons. I'll sign up for them ;-D

Thanks, CR! I really appreciate learning about the AA Jakks Pacific G.I.R.L. Force dolls. I like Nenko best of the two.

Do you know if Tonner or Star doll shoes fit the GIRL dolls? I use the GIRL dolls for crocheted dresses from Paradise Publications, but I can't seem to find any good shoes that will fit their feet.

Hi Molly and thanks for your query. Alrunia mentions that Tonner's Tiny Kitty (10") shoes can be worn by the Jakks Pacific G.I.R.L. Force dolls. I do not have any Tonner dolls so I do not know if any other Tonner doll shoes would fit G.I.R.L. Force dolls.

From the recent Mattel Stardolls - the low ankle boots can fit the G.I.R.L. Force dolls. Hooray! Good match up, Molly! I would add a short, thin pair of nylon socks to help keep the boots on the foot. There's a little wiggle room in the boot cavity.

I need to find the taller, "knee length" boot to see if that is wide enough to accommodate the G.I.R.L. Force dolls. The Stardolls' shoes have a slit in the back to allow ease in putting them on and off. And the boot cavity matches nicely with the arched G.I.R.L. Force dolls. I am not sure about the other G.I.R.L. Force footwear. I'll go through my collection and see about other matches.
