New (to Me) Beast Dolls - Do You Have a Preference?

Has anyone seen this Beast before? He reminds me of the Candy Glam Barbie.

He looks handsomer than the Disney Beast. I wonder if the Disney store has a different doll or if they used a different doll for the online photograph?

Mystery Doll Query - Who is She?

No, you haven't got the wrong blog. Still PhillyCollector here, but I received a doll query in Comments that I decided to bring out for my fellow doll enthusiasts. My guess is that the doll is a Disney doll, possibly the Wicked Queen from Snow White? Just a guess though so I ask for Xandara, does anyone recognize this doll?

Thanks in advance for any answers.

Walmart Finds January 2010

Liv Alexis photo of doll and her dog. Poor, poor Alexis. She's drowned in a dowdy denim skirt and purple fur ... shrug? Only her poseable body would be useful. Don't see anything redeemable in this outfit.

Princess Tiana and her female friend, sold separate. Yet another bulbous headed doll. Do most kids really prefer big-headed dolls? As a child, I despised Ideal's Tammy for having a enormous head and exalted Barbie for having a "normal-sized" head. Or perhaps it's the Bratz influence? But I think that the Mattel Disney dolls have always had big heads.

At least half of my Kens sat down and cried when I showed them the above photo. Orange, purple and pink? Orange, purple and pink! What sadist designed these fashions? How can they hold up their heads as partner to Barbie wearing those colors? Too, too much cruelty in the world.

Disney Princess Seven Pack - Princess Tiana

Target's newest Disney Princess multi-doll pack - seven Disney princesses in one box - has Princess Tiana. So the princess line-up includes:

Jasmine
Belle
Sleeping Beauty
Tiana
Cinderella
Snow White
Ariel

And what of Mulan? Couldn't eight princesses fit in the box?

Cheetah Girls Dolls

When I first saw the PlayAlong Cheetah Girls dolls, they were just new dolls. I recognized Raven-Symoné, but none of the other Cheetah Girls were familiar to me. I was not familiar with the teen book series or the Disney movies based on the group. (Like the situation of the High School Musical dolls ... I just saw dolls.) For those interested in the background(s) of the characters, there is a Wikipedia article elaborating on the novel series and offering links to related sites.

I like the dolls, but I'm not fond of their clothes. Below, the Cheetah Girls dolls:

High School Musical Boy in Graduation Outfit

I was at the Wyncote/Cedarbrook Mall Toys R Us today -- I forgot to mention that location in the previous post. That Toys R Us had these Disney High School Musical 3 Senior Year Graduation Day dolls: Gabriella, Sharpay, Troy, and Chad. On the back of the box, some other dolls are shown: Ryan, Chelsie, and Taylor. I relented and bought Chad. I mean, a NEW male head mold -- how could I pass him up? And the first Black male teenager - I mean who actually looks like a teenager LOL. Brad, Steven, and the Black Kens all look around thirty years old. Plus, Chad's sort of cute.

Chad will take classes with fellow HSM pal Ryan, Harry Potter, Kevin, and Scott. I can almost *see* the high school set -- stairs and a hallway. Throw in the Generation Girls, the Mystery Squad girls, and a few other teenagers -- neat scene.

Sets will be a future project. It's always fun to have new projects.
